I met Pastor Lambert on a Thursday night in 1978.It was my second date with Larry Stephens, and he brought me to a mission meeting at his church. I was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and in several ministries but I was able to visit St. James on the Sundays that I wasn't in ministry. I loved the genuine worship service and Pastor Lambert's sermons! What was sooo amazing to me was you can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, when you touched the door knob to enter the sanctuary! After Larry and I married, my spiritual growth took off under Pastor Lambert! He would host consecration services that allowed you to draw closer to the Lord. Pastor Lambert taught that you need a relationship with God, instead of going through the motions of going to church. My love for God's Holy Word grew under Pastor Lambert, and I truly thank God for blessing him into my life!!

Today I reflect on the legacy Pastor Lambert left his family and the members of St. James Holy Missionary Baptist Church. I thank God for the time I shared with him and how he helped support my Faith and my walk with the Lord. I can still hear him telling me to read my Bible and hold on to my Faith. Not to mention his favorite quote when you ask how he was doing? He would always say "Best day of my life "
To Sis.Lambert, Beverly and the rest of the Lambert family thank you for sharing Pastor with all of us. He was an amazing man of God and touched alot of lives. My life has forever been changed because of the love Pastor showed me.
May God continue to Bless you all!

In Love and Faith!

Pastor Lambert brought my 2 sisters to the Lord when they were 14 and 15 years old. I can never thank God enough for you. Since then one of my sisters has passed and he was there for her every step of the way, He even came to Fresno with the choir to conduct the services. I didn't know about your passing but I can truly say that you were a mighty man of God. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

I can't express the lasting imprint Pastor Lambert left on my heart and soul. He was a great influence in my spiritual walk for the last 4 years. He and Sister Lambert welcomed me and my Niece into their lives with open arms giving unconditional love as our surrogate parents. My heart is empty but my soul feels joy knowing he is home with our Father. Our last conversation was him telling me the importance of being on time as I was late to Sunday school as always. He gave me a hug and said he's been on time for everything since the 3rd grade. I have a voice message from Pastor Lambert that he left me a few years ago when I was sick and missed a few weeks of church. The message he left said "keep your faith" and continue reading your bible. I listened to the message the other day and was so happy I saved it. I needed to hear his voice and hear the words " we love you" His spirit will live with me for the rest of my days here until I see him again in Heaven. Well done Loyal and Faithful Servant. As Beverly stated you have done "enough" and now you are reaping your rewards. Our task is to continue the journey and use our gifts you discovered in each and everyone one of us. St. James Holy Missionary Baptist Church will continue your great works. Thank you for thinking I was worth saving. You are forever in my heart.

I am going to truly miss this man. He was like a Grandpa. I have been knowing him since I was 7. I remember him coming to my house so him and my dad could go walking. And him telling me I need to get busy in the church. Love you Rev. Lambert #Rest In Paradise

I will truly miss this man of God! He was my spiritual dad for 30 years. I will miss our conversations and his prayers, tho short but very powerful. He kept his long prayers for his closet (he taught us that). My gratitude and thanks goes to him for always praying for me. Now rest thy good and faithful servant, your work here is done. Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. (one of his favorite songs he always wanted me to sing) I will see you again Pastor Lambert!
To Sis. Lambert and the family, be strong in the Lord and be of good courage! We knew the life Pastor lived. The day he went home to his Heavenly Father was surely the best day of his life! You are all in my prayers. Love you.

Pastor Lambert, you will truly be missed. You had a true love for people and your actions spoke louder than your words.

Your phone calls and prayers were a blessing. Your funny comments put a smile on my face every single time.

You lived by the Word and you taught and showed us how we should live.......always according to the Word.

Now you are at peace you wonderful and faithful servant of God.

Pastor Lambert, I'm truly going to Miss your prayers, encouraging words, conversation and your sermons you preached at St. James..You were truly a Servant of God and only wanted us to have a personal relationship with our creator, which is God our Savior and be to be Saved. I truly Thank You for all you did for my mother Elizabeth Roberts. I will never forget all the Love and support you showed my family. So much that I joined St James Holy Missionary Baptist Church. You are what God intended for a Pastor to be. Sis. Lambert, I offer to you and your family, My Deepest Heartfelt Condolences. A Great, Great Man has gone home... Well done good and faithful servant.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Pastor Lambert's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Lambert and St. James Families.

I wrote this special Poem for him.
A Letter from Rev. Lambert

"To Christina, Beverly, My St. James family
To each of you who have stopped by
I've gone home to my Heavenly Father
So there's no need to cry

While my body may have no movement
No expression upon my face
It's my soul that will live forever
In a bigger, much brighter place

Don't think about what we could have done
Forget that what may have been
Just know God had other plans for me
And one day, you'll see me again

I hope that someone has been touched
By the life that I have led
Whether it was a random act of kindness
Or an encouraging word I said

The doors of the church are now open
For whosoever will, let him come
God has no respect a person
No matter where it is you come from

Share with people who couldn't make it today
I'm now with the Man on High
Living a life most people dream about
Wipe your eyes; no need to cry

I hope this letter brings you comfort
Because now my soul is free
Today is the BEST DAY of my life
Trust Him, for what you cannot see"
