Tanji LaShea Readus-Price
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Tanji LaShea Readus-Price departed this life on July 9, 2013, at Heritage Health in Springfield.
She was born Sept. 4, 1961, in Memphis Tenn., the daughter of Dessie Ree and Julius Readus.
Tanji was employed at Community Care of Springfield, Ill., as a Caregiver, with prior employment as a Case Manager at Contact Ministries and a childcare provider at multiple daycare facilities.
Due to the many years she worked helping others, she leaves many children and families whose lives she touched who will miss her presence.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dessie Ree and Julius Readus, and two sisters, Myra Kay Lott and Mary Readus.
She leaves to cherish memories her husband, Charles Hunter III; son, David Readus; daughters: Shawna Readus, Khoran Readus and Rebecca Schumacher; brothers: Jessie Readus (Molly) of Dublin, Miss., M'Banna Kantako (Dia) of Springfield, Ill., Anthony Readus of Atlanta, Ga., Patrick Readus (Daneen) of Edwardsville, Ill., Bryant Pace (Tarvis) of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Byron Pace of Collinsville, Ill.; sisters: Dorothea Brooks (Julius) of Columbus, Ohio, Berlinda Thomas of Springfield, Ill., Luella Hammonds of Memphis, Tenn., Carol Lloyd (Curtis) of Decatur, Ga., Jacqueline Readus of Springfield, Ill., and Lynn Readus and Patrice Readus both of Memphis, Tenn; 15 grandchildren with three on the way and a host of relatives and friends.
A Purple Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Sunday, July 21, 2013, at South Wind Park, 4965 S. 2nd Street, Springfield, IL 62703 from 4-9 p.m.

To My Lil Cuzns: I'll miss Shea, and I know she is resting in the arms of Jesus. I do understand that, when God does something, he doesn't make mistakes. To the Family,
I could not have asked for a better childhood friend to adulthood. Shea could have me in tears of laughter. We lost contact but when we reconnected she was still "Shea". I will dearly miss her and will shed tears of sadness but I know they'll turn to laughter again because she was just that kind of a beautiful soul that will always be with us. Love you sis, you're in the best hands ever and I'm blessed to have been able to have you in my life. May God bless and comfort your family always.

Khoran, Belinda, & Doretha I was sadden by the passing of Shea and I hope that she is now resting in the presence of the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her both family and friends. My prayers are with the family and especially her girls. All that God does he has a purpose and that is why we have the faith and belief that we will see each other again on the other side.
