Ted Taylor Obituary

Ted A. Taylor was born in Woodland, CA and passed away peacefully at his home in Carmichael. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and other health issues over 22 years, but nothing ever really kept him down! In Ted's younger years he was known as one of "The Boys of North Sac" played drums in the Herb & Glenn Miller Band at the ripe age of 16-17 years old, and in his later years was affectionately known to his family as "Pop" and "Daddy" and by many of his friends from coast to coast, just "Good Old Ted". Ted is survived by his wife and partner in life of 26 years, Ellen M. Taylor. Daughters Lisa A. Anderson (Richard Moore), Lora A. Fielder, and son Ted A Taylor, granddaughter Jessica Fielder, great-granddaughter Mariah Castillo, granddaughter Katie Doze, and great-grandchild, step-children Donna Kolb, Kathy Galvez, and Ronnie Kolb. Ted always lived life to the fullest and had accomplished more by the age of 50 than most in a lifetime, including setting world records in nostalgia drag racing, and a world record for moving the most dirt in 24 hrs, building highways 5 at the Los Banos stretch during his years with Merle Dubach, Teichert and Sons, also Turback Co. Rumor had it that Teichert had two companies, the second one was Ted Taylor & Crew. A few of his passions were music, love of animals, hunting, fishing, camping with his children, building hotrods, drag racing, and he was a 5 star cook and entertainer for family and friends. He would fish anywhere any time from the West Coast all the way to the Florida Keys with his dear friends. Ted was an avid patriot of his country and served honorably in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a real sports enthusiast, following the 49ers football from a young age and the Sacramento Kings basketball for many years. He came from a long heritage of being innovative with the design and building of all types of cars. "Above all he had a generous and warm heart, a great sense of humor and always putting people at ease, inspiring everyone he knew to be the best they could be and never settle for less". At his request there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future with location and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to Sutter Cancer Center. "We welcome you to visit more about Ted at www.eastlawn.com and share your stories and memories of such a great person".

Daddy, each year of you passing, well I miss you more n more! I dream about being your look out so you can race down Fair Oaks Blvd! It´s funny I climb a pole n tell to hit it, all is clear! You have always been my hero, the greatest man on earth. I now know how much you loved me! So many things get in the way of letting us see and appreciate what we do have! I can hear your voice still pop. I am not so lost now. Did a lot of healing! I finally realized and let Katie Ann go. I learned what a true mom would do! I was lucky to be her mom! Well, one day I believe we will be together! You me and grandpa will be fishing in that spot in the Thomas Kincade picture you gave! I love you daddy! Love Lisa
