Theresa McInnes Obituary

Theresa McInnes

July 11, 1933 - August 11, 2025

Reno, Nevada - Theresa McInnes passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025.

Theresa was born Theresa Pleines on the island of Norderney, Germany on July 11, 1933. She was one of nine children. After the war she served as an interpreter for the British Army.

She moved to the United States in 1954.

She married John McInnes and together they had two sons.

Sacramento was her home from 1959 until 2010 when she moved to Reno, NV.

She served as President of the Sacramento Republican Women's chapter in 1968.

Her greatest and proudest achievements would always be the years she spent working closely for and with Ronald Reagan, first as a volunteer on his campaign for Governor and later as a special agent in the California Office of Economic Opportunity investigation section and the Dept. of Justice and the Bureau of Organized Crime and Criminal Intelligence where she was one of the first women in a supervisory role and active in training federal agents. She always considered him a gentleman and statesman.

What's worth celebrating today was the original way she saw the world, her exciting story, and her unique strength.

Theresa is survived by her sons, Stewart and Andy, grandchildren Shannon and Patrick and Great Grandchild Jillian McInnes.

She will be missed.
