Levi William Johnston

BUFFALO - Levi William Johnston, 30, of Buffalo, passed away at home.

Levi graduated from Cattaraugus-Little Valley Central School in 2009 after attending Fredonia State University for his senior high school year.

Levi was a "people-person" and was the ultimate server and bartender in various restaurants in the Ellicottville and Fredonia area. His passion was cheese and he worked in the cheese shop at the Jamestown Wegman's and loved to introduce and expound on the many varieties that they offered. He became the cheese coordinator at the Lexington Co-op in Buffalo. Levi always impressed at family gatherings by showing off his artistic mastery through his "famous" charcuterie boards.

He was a devoted attendee of the Blue Heron and volunteered at this year's event. Levi appreciated the written word and he wrote countless letters and poems to his family and friends. Levi loved to garden and was a very creative cook. The family suggests donations to E.A.R.S., Salamanca.

He is the son of Stella and Garth Johnston; brother of Jordan D. (Holly) Luzier. His maternal grandparents were Gypsy and Bill Luzier and paternal grandparents were Beatrice and Ivan Johnston. Dorothy and Harold Gerwitz babysat him from age six weeks forward and he considered them grandparents as well. He is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends are invited to a remembrance party from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at the VFW, Wildwood Avenue, Salamanca.
