Brian Bessemer Obituary
Brian was born July 28, 1953 in Valley Forge, PA and grew up in Altoona, PA with his mother, Evelyn Miller and stepfather Jack Miller.
He graduated from Altoona High School in 1971 and Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in accounting.
Brian worked as a Certified Public Accountant and auditor for several years in Washington D.C. before moving to California to work for his father, Dr. Ray Bessemer, at his medical practice. Job changes took him to the Bay Area and then to King City.
In King City, Brian worked for the Southern Monterey County Medical Group from 1989 to 1993. He changed careers and went into sales for a computer systems company for 10 years and then sold insurance for Aflac.
Wherever Brian lived, he always found time to volunteer. He served as the Treasurer and President of the Grace Church Council and President of the Pine Meadows Homeowners Board for many years.
Brian is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet Bessemer, sons Corey (Cindyann) Glassman of Hayward, CA and Randy (Lisa) Glassman of Appomattox VA, grandchildren James and Audrey Glassman of Corralitos CA, brothers John (Becky) Miller and Tom Miller, sisters Jo Marie Vaughn and Gina Detwiler of Altoona PA, brothers Greg (Gwen) Bessemer of Poway CA, Paul (Yedida) Bessemer of Modesto CA, Chris (Nicolina) Bessemer of San Luis Obispo CA, Leonard (Aida) Bessemer of Los Angeles CA and Ray (Fengshun) Bessemer Jr of Fremont CA and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held on June 29, 2025 at Noon at Grace Church, 205 Canal St., King City.
