John Scherer Obituary

John Paul “Jack” Scherer, 90, loving husband and devoted father, passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital on January 23, 2021. He was born on June 26, 1930 to Joseph Scherer and Catherine Wendell Scherer in Lancaster, NY. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Jack served his country during the Korean War. Jack was a Cornell graduate and successful entrepreneur. He was a model of positivity and gratitude to those who knew him, and a fast friend to those he met. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemarie, and a daughter, Lisa. Surviving are five children, Judi Scherer (Mike Gaurnier), Michael Scherer (Cyndee), MaryBeth Scherer Conrad (Mark), Kelly Scherer, and David Scherer (Siobhan). Jack leaves thirteen grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, one great granddaughter and six step great grandchildren. Service: A memorial service will be held at a later date. Jack - Dad - Thanks for being such an amazing father-in-law and substitute for my own Dad upon his passing. I could always ALWAYS count on your support for anything I did career or family-wise. Thanks for being the best model of positivity and gratitude anyone could have. Enjoy the brats upstairs; save me a couple!
