Kent Blackwelder Obituary

Kent Lamont Blackwelder, 58, of Gold Hill, passed away on Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at his residence. Born on January 13, 1957, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Howard Junius Blackwelder and Remona Huneycutt Blackwelder. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools and attended China Grove Church of God and Rockwell Church of God. He was owner operator of Blackwelder Builders. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was survived by his wife Barbara Carter Blackwelder; daughter, Mona Lisa Alley (Chris) of Salisbury; and sons Samuel Blackwelder (Melanie) and Daniel Blackwelder (Karen) both of Rockwell. He is also survived by his brothers, Howard Ray Blackwelder of Salisbury, Darryl Lamar Blackwelder (Melanie) of Cleveland and Joel Drew Blackwelder (Belinda) of Salisbury. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samuel Jr., Lucy, Greyson, and Mahaley Blackwelder and Patience and Charlise Alley. His step children are Tammy Newman, William Clark (Angie) and Gary Clark (Marlene); step grandchildren Alley, Alisha Kirsteen, Tyler, Gabby, Sierra and Erica; as well as a step great-grandchild Breilyn. Visitation and Service: Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at China Grove Church of God with Rev. Steve Sprinkle, minister. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials: Memorials may be made to China Grove Church of God, 413 N. Franklin St. China Grove, NC 28023 Online condolences may be made to the family at www.linnhoneycuttfuneralhome.com.
