Patsy Powell Obituary

Patsy Somers Powell

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Patsy Somers Powell, age 84, of Knoxville, formerly of Salisbury, N.C., went to be with her Lord on Friday morning, March 28, 2014, surrounded by her family at her home.

Patsy was of the Lutheran faith. She traveled the world with her husband for 23 years, while they served in the U.S. Air Force. Patsy enjoyed reading, playing bridge, family, her two Yorkies and close friendships.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John L. Powell Jr; children Bo (Holly) Powell of Denver, Col., Doug (Lyn) Powell of Farragut, Ginger Powell of Knoxville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Service: The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday followed by a Celebration of Life at 4 p.m. at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Rev. J. Stephen Misenheimer officiating.

Visitation: Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Avalon Hospice, 152F Market Place Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37923; or to Ben Atchley State Veterans Home, Attn: Activities, One Veterans Way, Knoxville, TN 37931.
