Reginald J. Hall, Sr.

SALISBURY - Reginald J. Hall, Sr., 81, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Genesis Healthcare of Salisbury with his family by his side.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

Born May 6, 1930, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Arnoldus and Ada Kepley Hall. Educated in Rowan County schools, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Mr. Hall worked at W.A. Brown and Sons for 25 years and for General Electric in Salisbury for eight years. He was Vice President at Rowan Precision Machining Inc. in Granite Quarry until his retirement.

Reginald's hobbies were fishing, camping and gardening.

He was a member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Knights of Pythias for more than 55 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbert Hall, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Doris Bradshaw Hall, who he married Oct. 1, 1950; son Reginald Hall, Jr. and wife Ann of Salisbury; daughter Cheryl Spillman and husband Keith Spillman, Sr. of Salisbury; sister Annie Laura Thomas of Salisbury and husband George; sister-in-law Helen Hall of Salisbury; grandchildren Virginia "Ginny" Hall Leonard and husband Rodney of Salisbury, Nathaniel Hall and wife Jennifer of Salisbury, Jodie Wilson and husband Kevin of Mount Holly, Keith Spillman, Jr. of Salisbury; great-grandchildren Ryan, Robert and Annie Leonard, Bela and Parker Hall, David Yates, Eva, Zoe and Mia Wilson; and great-great-grandchild Braylen Yates.

Service: Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 15) at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Bryan, minister of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Summersett Funeral Home

Memorials: The family request memorials be made to Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, Audio Fund, 817 S. Main St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
