David Miner Obituary

1952 ~ 2011
David Ernest Miner, age 58 of Lehi, tragically passed away from a hunting accident on Oct. 8, 2011. Dave was born Dec. 7, 1952 in Logan, Utah to Dr. Merthyr and Norma Miner. While attending Utah State he met his sweetheart Tami Peterson and they were married on Sept. 13, 1974, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 13, 1991.
Dave led with his amazing example and set high standards for himself, which we all wanted to live up to. He was a jack-of-all-trades and always had a joke for any occasion. He loved the outdoors; the adventure was always calling him. He loved his Heavenly Father but above all his wife, children and grandchildren. He was the rock of strength in our family.
Survived by wife Tami, children, Scott (Michelle) Miner, Kiley (Quinn) Wing, Lindy (Trevor) Varney, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi East Stake Center, 900 North 1200 East. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening Oct. 12th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi and one hour prior to services at the Stake Center on Thursday. Interment, American Fork City Cemetery.

I think of him and his family often. I know how missed he is. I miss him. He taught me so much and especially not to take things to seriously and to find joy in whatever it is Im doing. Love to the family.

Dave, We are staggered by the tradegy of your loss to all those who loved you, were enriched and supported by you. You gave so much to our McDonald's Family and your loss will be felt by so many for such a long time. Your mentoring will help fill the void but you cannot be replaced. We wish peace and strength for those you left behind, knowledge that you will be together again. Thank you for all you did over the years for Eagle Quest. We love you and will deeply miss you, Rich and Jeri Garner Collings and our entire organization

I work at the Payson Mcdonald's and loved every time I got to see Dave. He was always with a smile on his face, and always made me feel so important. Dave was truly a great guy and I loved working with him. He was one of my favorite managers! I am so sorry for your loss Tami. I know that your time here on earth may seem long still, but I also know that it will seem minimal someday. Be strong and endure to the end. It will all be worth it. I know that you will see him again. I wish I could be there for the funeral but, I won't be able to attend. My love and prayers are with you and yours.

Tami,

My heart goes out to you and your family. Dave meant so much to me, he was a wonderful mentor and a great friend. I feel that he truly helped to shape me into the person I am today. I learned a lot about work ethics and compassion from him. He always pushed me to be better and to move forward in life. He was always so positive and had such a great outlook on life. It's funny that you don't truly realize the impact someone has on your life until they are gone. I am going to miss him dearly! Best wishes to you and your family.

XOXOXO

Tami,

David was my best friend in High school, and through College. We had some great times together, and I have thought about you and david often. It has been a long time since I last saw you, probably late 70's, but Dave Skabelund and I have talked about finding you and droping in sometime. So there it is another lost oportunity. And I am so very sad about this. We did not loose contact because we were not good friends, we lost contact because our lives went in different directions. Now I have kids, and one is in the high school band. I am driving the equipment truck the day of the funeral. At this point it is impossible for me to find a replacement. I am so sorry for your loss. I want you to know how important David was to me. Another friend gone!

My heart is hurting for you and your family. Love Jack Kloepfer

My freind, my mentor. My heart aches knowing you won't be with us anymore and aches for your family. Thank you for everything you have taught me with work and life. You always had a way of lightening things up when they got to serious and taught not to sweat the little things. You were so easy going and had the best sense of humor, thanks for caring and sharing your knowledge. I know your family meant everything to you and that you loved being a grandpa, those kids are are going to miss you so much. I know how much you loved Tami and was so proud of her and what a trooper she was. I love you and will miss you dearly. Until we meet again. Nicole Bass
