I am so glad you now have mom back and I know you have reunited. Mom missed you so much and she was never the same since your passing. So many of our friends have left this world into yours and I hope you have connected with them. I think of you every day and miss you very much and I am waiting for the day that we can see each other again. Nothing has been the same since your passing and now even worse that mom and dad are gone. But I know your happy to with them. Right now I'm thinking of you. I still have all of these vivid memories of you from when you where here in our lives. Hi Dad, just here at work tearing up like a baby over the last few comments. We feel you around the house a lot these days... much more since Ali has been around, and with the little one on the way. The light switch trick and door opening and shutting thing freaked us out a bit, but we know it's you so we are ok with it hahahah! Maddex says he seen you and that you make the "quack quack" sound to him? Guessing you are playing around with him. I still cannot listen to Coldplay without thinking of you and crying. They are tears of sorrow and tears of relief. I am simultaneously sad at your loss and relieved that I can draw upon your strength and experience for inspiration through the most difficult of times.
I think of your strength, your will, the final fight for your life. It inspires me to fight as you fought, the same way grandpa fought. You were the only one there to witness the final round, perhaps the only one with the strength to witness the inevitable, to hear his last breath.
Thank you for this special gift.
Also, thank you for helping me understand that without our health and the love of others, nothing else in life really matters. It helps me keep my priorities straight -- care for self, care for Mark, care for my boys, care for Jisenia and all family and friends.
Caring for Grandma has become a top priority in my life, but you left large shoes to fill indeed. She takes good care of me in the same way she took good care of you and you reciprocated her love. As of late, I have been dubbed "the ninth child." How lucky am I to have the unwavering love of not one mother, but two? Grandma is doing well and is again, happy and content.

Dad, I know that our life together was tough from the very beginning and we had so many obsticles that were thrown our way that made it even harder at times to have a strong and healthy relationship. I know that those were the cards that we were delt but the last 8 years I know that we were able to grow so much closer and today I just hope you know that I love you dad and I am so greatful to have those 8 years. I will forever remember the long talks and all of the great advice you have given me. I talk with Bronson everyday about life, choices that we make and the reprecussions of those choices while we are diving and it trips me out how much I remember that being me in the passenger side listening to you. This is the first time I have ever written in this because I didn't want to admit that this is real. It has been too painful to accept the fact that your gone. As the days get closer and the weather gets warmer I can't help but remember what you went through. Not a minute goes by when I don't think about you. De Lahoya lost on Saturday to Mayweather and I know you were watching it all. I miss getting together with you to watch the fights but we will do it again someday. Rico family,
It's getting close to the end of January 2007. We have made it through our first Thanksgiving, Birthday, Christmas and New Year.
Thank God for our family and the strength each and everyone of us have displayed during these last months.

Hey Uncle Dave,
A few days ago there was the most beautiful sunrise. The instant that i saw it i thought of you. Well, the holidays have come and gone. There wasn't a single moment that i didn't think about you! Your goddaughter Jisenia received a special visit from Santa Mouse. He left her a present tied with a yellow ribbion on the tip of a branch on the Christmas tree in honor of you. I remember how you always gave her the most beautiful jewelry. She received a beautiful pair of earrings from you and Santa Mouse. She was so happy to get them. Santa Mouse told her in a special note that you are vary proud of her and her recent accomplishments in school. Well David...this holiday season was very hard for my family and i. However we know that you are in a better place and that you are always looking over us and protecting us! Every time we feel the wind on our faces and see the beautiful colors as the sun rises and sets we will know that you are with us. I will see you, see you on the other side.
