Bountiful, UT-Our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend, Dixie Ann Nelson Morrell, passed away peacefully on a beautiful Sunday morning, August 31, 2025. Dixie was born on July 3, 1935, in Bountiful, Utah, to J. Enos and Marie Nelson.

Dixie was a life-long resident of Bountiful, Utah. She attended Stoker Elementary, So. Davis Jr. High and Davis High School. She was actively involved in High School as a member of the cheerleading squad and the drama department. A proud Davis Dart.

Dixie met McRae (Mac) Morrell on the fourth of July, 1952, at the famous Lagoon swimming pool. They were married on September 22, 1955 in Bountiful, Utah. They are the proud parents of three children, Guy, Marie, and Kyle.

Dixie was an excellent homemaker and cook. She loved having everyone over for Sunday dinners and holidays. The grand-kids all loved her famous mashed potatoes. She loved going to ball-games, dance recitals, bowling, golfing and especially playing card games with her life-long beloved bridge group friends. Later in life, she loved watching ball games and became an avid Fantasy Football Fan.

She had a deep love and devotion for her family, especially her grand-kids and great-grand-kids. We will miss her bright smile, blue eyes, and quick wit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Melvin Nelson, husband McRae (Mac) Morrell, and son Kyle Morrell. Dixie is survived by her children, Guy (Colleen) Morrell, and Marie (Gene) Knickrehm, 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Nancy and the entire Staff at Country Care Assisted Living in Farmington for their loving care of Dixie for the past 6 months. We would also like to thank Ovation Hospice, Dr. Jensen, nurse Megan & team for their love and care.

A viewing will be held from 9:45–10:45 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2025, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main in Bountiful, Utah. A private family graveside service will follow. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
