Dear Gleave Family,

If ever there was a true "Southern Lady", it was your wonderful mother, Doris. What a marvelous legacy you have with such a beautiful, loving, selfless mother and grandmother.

She had a gift for making you feel welcome and special. Her voice was charming and warm in her beautiful Texan accent with all her cute little expressions, like, "My Land!".

I remember how she loved and looked forward to her date night with her sweetheart, Dahl and you kids got to eat take home from "Jack in the Box" because your Dad was taking her out to dinner. He was always so proud of her.

I remember that she loved "The Tom Jones Show" on T.V. and she loved him singing, "She's A Lady". Every time I hear that song I think of her, in my mind that's her song.

She was a fantastic cook, (loved her meatloaf) and kept everything immaculate. Once you kids teased her that if you got up in the night to use the bathroom your bed would be made before you could crawl back in. She weathered all the kid and teen stuff 5 kids and all their friends could bring on, with class I might add. She was witty and had a charming humor that through the years memories of her great example inspired me with my kids and their friends.

She made everything so beautiful. She was a talented artist, and I loved her colorful painting of the Clown. Everything her children made, accomplished or did she was behind encouraging and proud of you all.

She taught you to love and value family and be loyal by her example and relationships. She let you make your own choices and did her best to back you up, but gave you a wonderful example to reach for.

She was so generous and thoughtful. She made specail dates etched in your heart, so it's natural that any memories of her will be right at home in the hearts of everyone lucky enough to be blessed by Doris.

As all the holidays appoarch I can image how you will miss her, but her sweetheart, Dahl and all her other family on the other side will be rejoicing with her. I hope that will give you all some sweet anticipation for a wonderful family reunion with them all some day.

May the best of the Lord's blessings be yours with comfort and joy for having such a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Sincerely, from your old friend,

Lisa and I wanted to express our love to all of you. Coy mentioned once that you are never really adults until your parents are gone. I have thought about that alot over the years, and realize that to some extent it is true. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday, but wish that our gatherings were in the summer, around the 4th of July, with lots of food and friends.

Love,
Ray & Lisa Nelson, and family
