Franziska Fleischer Obituary

Franziska Fleischer
1936 ~ 2013
Our beloved mother, sister and Oma Franziska Maria Huettlinger Fleischer, age 76, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 19 at her home surrounded by family and hymn singing.
She was born August 20, 1936 in Kenzingen, Germany to Johann Huettlinger and Mathilde Muessle. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Freiburg in 1947 and was sealed to her family in the Switzerland Temple in 1956 before immigrating to Salt Lake City. There she raised her four children while becoming a successful real estate agent and contributor to the arts community.
Fran's life was filled with music. She directed the German Chorus Harmony for more than 20 years and served as stake music director, ward choir director and chorister. Fran was a faithful Latter-day Saint with a strong testimony and a love for her Savior.
Fran is survived by her loving children Stephen (Lorie), Karen (John), Thomas (Karlie) and her twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her caring sister Trudy (Joachim) Schenk. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son David and brother Hans.
A special thanks to CareSource Hospice for their love and tender care.

Dear Fleischer family

I'm sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She helped my mom, Herta Noeske, many times in her last years. Her help was such a comfort to me. Your mom also helped me sell my mom's home at a difficult time. Your mom's thoughtfulness and kindness will always be appreciated.

Fran is truly an angel and has impacted our lives in such a positive way. I have no doubt that she is sharing her wonderful musical talents and loving personality with all her loved ones that have passed on before. Thank you dear Fran for a life well lived.

Dear Fleischer Family and Close Freinds,
Karen and I were saddened to hear of your mother's illness when we called to relate Karen's mother's passing a month ago. We know a little of what you are feeling. However, we hope the dews of heaven's peace cover you with comfort and sweet memories that have given us such wonderful help during these times of transitions.
Sister Franziska had a voice of an Angel and we are certain she is adding her talents to the beautiful song of heaven now. Margaret, Karen's mother had such a wonderful regard for your Mother, her talents, her passion, her kindness, and her grace. Karen remembers her as always being a true woman of decency, decorum, and a wonderful examply of a loving sister in the Gospel. Karen remembers with fondness tending you, Fran's kids.
We wish you well,
Sincerely,
Frederik and Karen Gasparac Dissel

I will sincerely miss dear, sweet Fran. I've known her as a fellow realtor, patriot, music lover and friend. May God's spirit comfort her family as she will be sorely missed. I'm glad she is no longer suffering and I picture her happy reunion with loved ones on the other side of the veil. Best wishes on the next step of your journey, Fran. You will prepare the way for your family. I feel blesssed to have known you.

I remember Fran Fleischer as a sweet, lovely, kind, caring, very musically talented, special lady! A wonderful cook too, with her traditional German meals that she would prepare and they were delicious! My sister and I lived across the street from her in South Salt Lake for several years. Wonderful memories of her and her family! Thankfully, I was able to visit with her a few years ago with my sister because it had been years since I had seen her. It was a pleasure to see her once again. She was also battling her cancer courageously at that time. I was surprised and shocked to hear of her passing this past week and wanted to send my heartfelt prayers of comfort and peace to her family. I know she will be missed terribly by all who have had the blessing to know her and love her! She was an Elite Lady and a great example of faith, of love, and of kindness to all.
Sincerely,

I remember so many wonderful things about Fran. So many years ago she was my teacher in MIA. Later she helped Pat and me buy a home. She was gracious, kind, and talented. I am blessed because I knew her.

It was a pleasure to know Fran and be part of her life. We were in the Relief society Presidency together in Granite Park Ward with Dottie Dean. What fun we had. I will always treasure my time with the two of them as my counselors. You truly learn to love those you serve and those you serve with. Fran was a very strong person in many ways and will greatly be missed here but will be singing and leading choirs on the other side of the veil. Jim and I can truly say she is an eternal friend and one we are sure we knew before we ever came to this earth. Fran, we will see you there when the time comes. We love and miss you. Fran -- you will be missed. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you over these past 5+ years, and look forward to meeting you again one day! To Fran's children, I know you already know this but Fran always told me how much she loved each of you! I know she will be watching out for you on the other side! Love, Julie

I just loved Fran. What an example she was to me. She was a good friend, great cook. She was a righteous member of her church. She was a good listener
and concerned for all she knew. She will be greatly missed. I loved her German accent. She took very good care of herself. She was very gracious and
I'm sure I can think of more things to say about her after I'm done writing
this. She is now with her Son, Dave
who gave her great joy. She was dependable which is my favorite character that she passed on to her
children.
Love you Fran.
Love your friend always, Janet Brewer

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Fran well, she was such a classy gracious and kind woman. I will miss her.

Dear Fleischer Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathies. We love Fran! What an amazing woman. Tracy, of course, knew your family growing up in the same ward and I was honored to know your Mom after we were married and lived on Green Street for 10 years. We loved her smile and her words of encouragement. Her love of music was so contagious! She was the Ward Choir Director and we loved singing in her choir! There are touching family reunions in the heavens above when one passes from this life and we know that this is no exception. May our Heavenly Father bless you with peace.
Love,
