I'm blown away by this. I just spoke to John within the last month while he was here in Phoenix. I'll always remember John's laugh and laid back personality. I was glad to call John my friend. I'll miss calling him on his birthday and singing Happy Birthday. Till we meet again brother John.

My heart reaches out to the entire family...........I am a struggling neighbor.........John and Susan have always been a beacon of light in the neighborhood and have always been kind to me when in need. John reached out when I had stupid struggles but was always there for me. They together have raised a beautiful, responsible and lovely family............John will be missed in so many ways.

John could connect with anyone. He was an honest friend that wasn't afraid to call you out if you needed it. He loved the outdoors. He was always looking to spend time with nature, especially on the water. I learned a great deal about music from him, particularly about the Greatful Dead. He really understood people and what they were about. I think that is why he could connect so quickly to strangers. We all have a friend to look forward too when we leave this Earth!

John's sense of humor and candor for any giving situation was enthusiastic to say the least. I had a chance to work with him on a professional level as well and was equally impressed by his passion for his work. Great job buddy and happy trails till we meet again!

I can't believe we've lost John. John befriended me when I was going through my awkward years at Churchill Jr High, and he was one of my most colorful friends ever. I'll always remember him having the keys to his parents' Triumph convertible and driving down to my house when he was 14, being the first person I knew to own a moped (he had the sleekest Italian model!), and he hosted some of our most enjoyable parties at the house up in the Cove. Always a smile on his face, and something positive to say about any of his vast collection of friends. Rest in peace my friend, and thank you for the fun times skiing the greatest snow on earth, and for all of the cherished memories.

For John's family - Words cannot express the depth of your loss and I'm so sorry that you are going through this. John was truely a positive light that brought happiness to others, many times without even realizing that he was doing so. I feel fortunate that I was able to interact with him from time to time - and my life was made better for that. Thank you for sharing his friendship.

John will be missed by so many. To hear and witness the outpouring support, condolences and heart felt remarks from so many of his High School classmates has truly been inspirational for me and others. His friendship, quick wit, sense of humor and just the way he lived has shown all of us what a great man he is. May God always bless the Pingree family.
