Roy Larsen Obituary
1946-2025
Longtime resident of Bend, Oregon, Roy Leland Larsen, Jr., passed away Sunday May 18, 2025, after a long illness. He was born August 6, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roy Leland Larsen Sr. and Adrianna Roestenburg Larsen. He was the oldest of eight children. He grew up and attended school in Riverton, Utah, attended BYU in Provo, Utah, and served in the United States Army for five years. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska and his Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
His family moved to Bend in 1978, where he worked as a carpenter and building contractor. He then owned and operated Bend Awards and Engraving for thirty-seven years.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, assisting members of his community. He also volunteered for several years with the American Red Cross, including on-site assistance during Hurricane Katrina. Roy was an Eagle Scout and dedicated countless years of service as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, Explorer Scouts, Order of the Arrow and Wood badge Training. He also enjoyed his volunteer work as a member of the Bend Senior High School Football chain gang for over ten years.
Roy is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 53 years; their children, Korena Farris of Bend, Ryan Larsen of Warrenton, Oregon and Kimberlee Lewandowski of Kona, Hawaii; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Ron, Roger, Robin, Ross and Roland. He is preceded in death by his sons, Roy Leland Larsen III and Rhett Landon Larsen, Brother Rolfe Larsen, Sister Annette Larsen and his parents. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who he would often take to the High Desert Museum.
A graveside memorial will be held at the Riverton, Utah City Cemetery on August 23, 2025. It will start promptly at 12:00 p.m.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to Partners in Care and Hospice of Bend and the wonderful support of many friends during his end of life care.
