I have worked and known your family for many years. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Stephen in Vernal while I worked with him. I too have a Son that is an apprentice. I council him and worry about the hazards of being a Lineman. It was my pleasure to have known your Son. He was full of energy and life. He was a great Lineman and knew what he was doing. My heart is full of love for your family and I only wish I could have been there for you. I know he is in a good place. I hope you can feel the love that everyone that knew him had. He made me happy when I was down. He was indeed one hell of a man. I loved him and will miss his smile. Gabe I have know you for many years and I want you to know how I loved your Son.

There are no words to express how sorry I am for your loss. I didn't know Steve very well, but did get the opportunity to hang out with him a few times. I do remember giving him and a few friends a ride home a few months ago & how much fun we all had that night. He was a very kind, funny, and polite guy and I feel privileged to have had the chance to know him. I have seen first hand the loss of a son & brother-please know that my heart breaks for you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Gabe, Sherrie & Christopher,
Today's services were the largest outpouring of love and support we have ever seen in the face of such a heartbreaking tragedy . . . Truely, a testament of how much you mean to family, friends and an entire community. There are no words to express how sorry we are about the loss of our beloved Stephen, nor take away the pain and profound sadness this tragedy brings... We are left with only our memories to hang on to. I once read, “The life given us by nature is short, but the memory of a well-spent life is eternal.”
Our love, thoughts and prayers will be with you in the coming days and we sincerely hope you will be able to find some level of comfort in the beautiful memories you have and all of the heartwarming stories about Stephen that people have so graciously shared.
Since Stephen's move to SLC, we had hoped to spend more time getting closer to him. We're heartbroken now, to not have that chance.

I am so sorry for your loss. My backyard will never be the same. Your son must have been extraordinary, I have felt his spirit since the accident. We are going to plant some new trees in his memory under the line he was fixing for us. I am not quite sure what else to do to honor his life. I hope that you and your family will heal in time as well as mine. I never knew him in life, but I definatley feel your loss. If there is anything else that we can do for you please let us know.

Dear Vlamakis Family,
My husband and I thought the world of Steve. He was one of Bobby's first friends when he moved from Las Vegas to Utah. I will never forget the ride in Steve's truck to Scofield, where we talked and of course laughed the whole way. Steve was a great friend to many and it was clear how much his family meant to him. Dear Vlamakis Family,
I am so truly sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Steve while in Vernal, Utah doing line work. We quickly became very good friends. We spent a lot of time together both on and off the clock. Steve was one of the funnest people I have ever hung out with. I had a rough time while in Vernal because I was leaving my wife and a new baby behind, but Steve was always there for me. I think that we ended up having too much fun together though, we had a running joke that he was going to have to pay me back for the 3 months of marriage counseling that I was going to have to get. Even after leaving Vernal I have still considered Steve to be one of the best friends that I have ever had. I will miss Steve greatly and I know that he will be missed by anyone who ever knew him.

I feel so blessed to have been able to share my life and a lot of memories with Steve. He was a very dedicated friend and I know that we will all see him again. I wanted to express my deepest condolences for you and those you love. Stevie was a wonderful kid. He made me laugh all the time, even when I was trying to be stern with him at wrestling practice. He was an earnest, hard working kid, and an absolute reflection of the wonderful parents that raised him. He will be missed and my heart aches for all of you.

I have known Stephen since kindergarten. Stephen was a good guy. He has worked hard to get where he is. My dad still remembers when Stephen worked for him at Tram Electric and how hard of a worker he was. The Vlamakis family will be in my prayers.

I had the pleasure of knowing Steve while he lived in Logan and Salt Lake. He was a truly great man who was always happy to see anyone. I honestly can't remember him without a smile. He always did little things to make people's life better like stopping and giving me many rides home from school when he seen me walking in the snow. I will always remember his cheerfulness and miss him deeply. I am so sorry for your loss of such an exceptional young man and want you to know how many lives were touched by Steve wherever he went. I met Steve while going to school at USU. He was an amazing friend to everyone that knew him. He brought fun and laughter with him everywhere he went. Dear Vlamakis family,
I only had the pleasure of knowing Steve for 5 short days, but he truly touched my life more than I can begin to explain. We met at a concert this past Friday and went on our first official date on Sunday night. In just 5 days I learned how much he loved his family and how close you are. I was able to experience his contagious sense of humor and his fun-loving nature. This experience has taught me not to take my relationships for granted and to give everyone I meet a first chance. He really was the sweetest guy I had met in a very, very long time. It breaks my heart to know that I will never have the chance to get to know him better.
And to Steve…
I guess we met just in the nick of time! You jammed me up by leaving so soon! You came into my life for reasons I don’t yet understand, but I will never forget you. I really enjoyed the little bit of time I was able to spend with you. The connection was instant and you left a lasting impression on me that I will keep with me always. Looks like it will be a little longer than “sometime in the next few days” before we see each other again… There must be spirits in heaven who need you now more than we do. Best of luck on your heavenly journey but watch out for those cars turning left!

I met Steve while attending USU and have many fond memories of him there. He truly was one of the most genuine people I have ever met. He was just a good person that everyone loved to be around. I will remember his laugh and smile forever. I was lucky enough to reconnect with him recently and I will cherish that happy accident. Steve was one of the most wonderful people that I have ever met. There was definitely never a dull moment with Steve around. He told the best stories and captured the friendship of so many around him.
I have so many wonderful memories of Steve. He was a huge part of our large group of friends and it will never be the same without him.
I will never forget the countless camping trips we took, trips to Moab, the BBQ’s and nights of fun I shared with Steve.
I can see him now, playing horse shoes and singing to whatever song they have blaring in the background. Steve had so many friends that just loved having him around. It didn’t matter what we did, we all just loved when he came down and we could hang out.
I will miss everything about Steve. I will miss him calling me sweetheart every time I made him “camping coffee” or refilled his beer at our annual dinner at the Moab Brewery.
Steve, you touched my life more than you will ever know.. I will never forget your wonderful smile and ridiculously funny stories. You will never be forgotten.

Stephen is so loved by us all...Gabe and Sherrie, We cant even express the emptiness we all feel about Stephen..We were family from Jan.through Aug. with wrestling , baseball and football..Those days and our kids growing up together are priceless...All the day care kids at Angel's were so close and they still are...The priviledge we have of living in Helper and being so close is great. HJH was the best ..I always hear how great it was there. Those kids have friendships forever...Stephen came to Carbon High and of course he ended up working in the attendance office because of course, I held a special place for him in my heart and always will..Kirk will never forget the sports ..Kirk was a coach that Stephen loved...Heele was just friends with the whole group and YES Stephen was on top of her list...McCade was older and looked out for the little guys, Stephen was one he watched out for....We love you ,,,and are here for you always ....Jodi Kirk McCade Heele Mascaro

Steve was such a great guy. I shared so many laughs with him. He took me fishing once and it started raining. Instead of letting that ruin our time, Steve decided to show me how to flip pennies while we sat in his truck during the rain storm. I also worked with him at Smith's in Price. On boring nights, we would sneak back to the produce department where they kept the helium tanks and we would make announcements over the intercom with high voices, trying our hardest not to laugh. I remember seeing him a few times after high school and it was if time had never gone by. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
