Anita Louise Bryant Dockery passed away from this earth on May 12, 2021 at the age of 87 years. She was born January 3, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas to Alice and Jerry D. Bryant. She was preceded in death by Richard Lee Dockery, the father of her five children, her brothers J.D. Bryant and Eugene Bryant and her son-in-law Paul Kniestedt. Surviving Anita are her sister, Janis Burton (Carroll), her daughters Debra J. Dockery and Pamela Dockery Vance (Keith), her sons Rick Dockery (Debra K), Matt Dockery (Lee) and Wendell Dockery (DeAnn), her grandchildren Denise Quates (T.J.), Kyle Dockery (Jessica), Lyndsey Dockery, Nicole Vance Blount (Tim), Cassie Villela (Gilberto), Matthew Dockery (Cassandra), Sydney Dockery, Joshua Dockery (Katy), Travis Dockery and Katelyn Dockery and 9 great-grandchildren.
Anita graduated from Harlandale High School in 1951. She had a near 40- year career as an editor of training manuals at Fort Sam Houston. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She never missed one of their sports events, recitals, school events or birthdays. Her hobbies were reading and gardening. Resilient, independent, and often stubborn, she was a role model for all her family.
The pallbearers for Anita's service will be Kyle Dockery, Joshua Dockery, Travis Dockery, Matthew Dockery, Jr., Keith Vance, and Tim Blount.
The family wishes to thank the health care providers at Connally Memorial Hospital and Lisa with Visiting Angels.
There will be a visitation with family and friends Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia.

I will always remember her friendly demeanor, and big smiling face from the neighborhood on southeast side of san antonio,tx.Alwaiys nice to all of us . May God above comfort The family and friends of a beautiful person i was blessed to know.
