Annette Butler Obituary

Mrs. Annette Butler, age 69 of Kerrville, Texas went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 30, 2007 at her residence. She was born on April 10, 1938 in Hobbs, NM. Her family moved to San Antonio when she was an infant and she had been a Kerrville resident since 1976. She graduated from Edison High School in San Antonio and attended Kilgore Jr. College where she was a member of the "Rangerettes." She also attended St. Mary's University. She was the executive director of the Texas Arts & Crafts Educational Foundation from 1993 until 2001. The pavilion located in River Star Arts & Events Park was dedicated to Annette. In addition, she was active in MPB Inc., her family's construction business and had owned and operated a retail clothing store and a catering business. Annette had served as president of the Kerrville Host Lions Club and had traveled all over the world with her husband on behalf of the Lions Club International. In addition she had served on many boards and as a volunteer in many civic organizations. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Kerrville. She dedicated her life to serving God and others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth & Roy Harrington and a son, Jerry Gene Butler. She married M. P. "Mike" Butler on July 14, 1967 in San Antonio. He survives along with a daughter, Shelli D. Butler of Kerrville; two sons, Gary L. Butler & wife Reneé Piant and Michael D. Butler & wife, Connie, all of Center Point, Texas; a sister, Margaret Little of Tullahoma, TN.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. A celebration of Annette's life will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kerrville with Dr. George Harris officiating. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Endowed Maintenance Fund, 625 Washington St., Kerrville, TX 78028 or the Texas Lions Foundation, 6005 99th St., Lubbock, TX 79424.
