Freda Bailey Obituary

BAILEY
Freda was born in Oden, Arkansas on February 18, 1922 and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 20, 2009. Freda was known for her love of family and her lifelong faithful commitment to Jesus Christ. Freda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Ralph H. Bailey and son, James Scott Bailey. She was survived by her daughter, Sue Bailey Wooster; son, Gary Stephen Bailey; grandchildren, Joy Frantz, Greg James, Julianne Bailey, Mark Bailey, Charlotte Falydn, Teresa Carpenter, Steve Wooster and 12 great grandchildren. Freda was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist for more than 40 years. She loved to garden and was active in the United Methodist Women and other church service groups. Freda was known for her gregarious nature and friendly smile. Freda was always "young at heart". Those who knew her well loved her deeply. Freda will be greatly missed by her family and devoted friends. The family would like to extend a personal word of gratitude to Minerva Ortega and her fellow caretakers who provided loving, personal care for Freda for the past 10 months. We love you Minerva and will be forever grateful for how you cared for and loved our "Meme". Sue and Steve would also like to thank Steve's loving wife Sheri, who provided so much love, honor, care and "goodies" for Freda throughout her illness.

Not sure if anyone will see these but I only got to meet Freda a handful of times as a little girl but she was always very kind & caring. She kept up with how I was through my Grammy. (Scott was my biological father.)

I meet my Aunt Fredia many years ago as a very young little girl. She was my mothers first cousin. When I was in doubt of something or needed just to talk to someone I could always call her. Now understand in our family if one the children was a single child the other cousins became aunts and uncles. I loved the way that aunt fredia would call my parents telling them that she is on her way to ark to visit everyone. My Dad would say, I am calling on the Ham Radio to let everyone know that their is a redheaded lady coming our way, move over or be blown away from the wind of her car. She always had a great out look in life. I wish my parents and her and uncle bailey had aloud Steve to come AR more in the summer time.
I know between me, Linda Kay and Mike and Stan and Debbie he would go back to texas saying ark is great and having wonderful cousins to see every year to catch up on all there news, enjoy playing tricks on each other. I know Aunt Fredia would have been right in the middle of all this great fun. When she came for my Dad's and mother 50th Annversary she was telling stories on my mom. It great to hear all those stories from her. We had a long talk about my children and her children how I should take her advice just let them grow up and TELL THEM HOW GOOD AND GREAT THEY ARE. I really wish she had given this advice many years ago.
Steve, and your sister I hope someday we can get together and share pictures that I have from ""My Meme Scott and Papa Scott.

To the family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm grateful that I was fortunate enough to have known Freda, or "Meme", as she was known by Tara and so many others. She was a wonderful woman, and I know she will be dearly missed and always remembered by all that knew and loved her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, God Bless.

To the family of Freda Bailey,
Freda was a very loving person. Having lived next door to her for the past 18 years it is hard to imagine that she is never coming back home eventhough I knew she was living elsewhere and was not doing too good. One day she shared with me that she was sick and that she had lived a great life and was ready whenever the lord was ready for her. This picture is the way I will always remember her, with her red hair and smile on her face. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Your neighbor, Judy, Erica and Jason Lopez

Frieda, what a wonderful friend. while she worked at Fort Sam we had our early Monday morning visit and she shared her weekend with her family. Often it was a trip to Houston to see Ralph and Sue's Family.
What a sence of humor, love of Family, flowers and love of the Lord. Her friendship was a true gift from God.
