Isabel Walker Obituary
July 7, 1929 - April 11, 2024
Isabel Trevino Walker passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024. The youngest of seven siblings, she was born in Helotes, Texas on July 7, 1929. Isabel earned her BA degree from Incarnate Word College and her MLS from Our Lady of the Lake University. She had a long career in education teaching in Catholic schools and serving as a principal. After working as a librarian at San Antonio College for 21 years, she achieved a professorship in the business department. She held memberships and offices in various professional organizations.
Devotion to the Catholic faith was a great source of Isabel's inner strength as she took an active role in parish activities and organizations in San Antonio and later at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Honey Creek. Her humor and liveliness were well appreciated in her retirement community during her final years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 25 years, Rees Walker. Aunt Bella will be lovingly remembered by all of her extended family including numerous nephews and nieces, who were especially devoted to her.
A memorial rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Helotes, Texas on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 4:30 pm in the chapel, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 5:00 pm. To leave a note for the family visit www.meadowlawn.net

Isabel and I were long time friends from our days of working together at San Antonio College. We moved from Texas last year and I have just learned of her passing. She was truly one of the dearest, sweetest people I have ever known. She was blessed to have such a loving family and spoke often of the kindness of her nieces throughout her life. I send my condolences. I felt honored to have her as a friend.

To the family of Isabel, I would like to offer my deepest sympathy. I moved to Bulverde in 2005 and join the Arts and Craft group at St. Joseph, Honey Creek. Isabell was the first person I met and made me feel so welcome. We became friends that day and have kept in touch, even though I moved to Maine. She was a wonderful person, a lovely lady, and a dear friend. I am blessed to have had her in my life. I am sure she will be missed by all her family. Know that you all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
