It was with great sadness that I learned of J.D.'s passing. He represented me for three long and hard years on my Divorce case. The trail phase lasted two weeks. Needless to say I learned to appreciate J.D.'s brilliant mind, legal knowledge, and just him as a human being after spending so much time together. A true Texas Gentleman. My life has been enriched both then and now because of our trails crossing. Sleep well my old friend and Advocate. You lived life as it should be.

Jimmy and I fought in Court and laughed together out of Court for 40 years. The handicaps he had and his accomplishments should make us all sad that we haven't done more with our lives. Jimmy always had on his "good ole boy" mask but woe to those lawyers that didn't realize that behind that mask was a brilliant mind. All those that knew him will miss him.

JD...What a great man! He lived such a great, impressive life. In 35 years that I've known JD, I never heard a negative word about him. Such a great family man...This man gave, gave and gave more. Advice, friendship and love...this man wanted to do for others at all times. JD is a role model for me, my whole life. Through the years I met so many family members, they all only had praise for him. To John Francois, Laura and your kids, fill the hole in your heart with the incredible memories, stories and unconditional love from such a fantastic man.

We lost a legend Tuesday-J.D Stewart. A generous man who was always giving his time and possessions to help others. He shared all he had with other people, especially family. No matter what the situation or circumstance, if J. D. was there, he made it more interesting and enjoyable. A great man who will be missed by all! Always willing to give advice to anyone who asks, I see him right now in heaven giving suggestions to God on how to run things, saying-"Hey, can I tell ya..." My prayers and condolences go to the Stewart family and friends! I had the honor of first meeting Mr Stewart when I was the Bailiff for former Judge Charles A. Gonzales of the 57th District Court in Bexar County. Mr Stewart immediately struck Me as a fine and understanding person with high morals and caring for his clients and fellow employees and attorneys. He also showed Me great respect and even generosity whenever I would run into him at a local restaurant. I will sorely miss his humor, respect and kindness! Rest in Peace Mr Stewart! Respectfully, J.
