Madolyn Fallis Obituary

MARCH 30, 1934 - JANUARY 20, 2019
Madolyn Douglas Fallis passed away on Sunday morning, January 20th from lung cancer complications. A long-time organist, pianist, harpsichordist, and choir director, she will be remembered with great love by her family, her many friends and musical colleagues, as well as by the many San Antonians for whom she performed at concerts and for whom she played for family events.
Raised in the Nazarene Church, she contributed her talents to the worship programs of (in no particular order) Christ Episcopal Church, University Methodist Church, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and University Presbyterian Church, among others. She performed at thousands of weddings, funerals, and church services, playing at almost every church of almost all denominations across the area.
Madolyn is survived by sons Greg and Michael Wright, adopted son Paul Fairchild, daughter-in-law Maria Fairchild, and grandchildren Alicia, Chris, and David Wright and Alessandra and Daniel Fairchild.
SERVICES
A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Friday, February 1st, at 10:30 a.m. The family would request that you remember Madolyn by contributing your talents or funds to the music program of your choice, or to the music program of Christ Episcopal Church. Our son was born with a number of medical issues that required multiple surgeries (33) over the years at Santa Rosa Hospital. We lived in Florida and would sometimes spend weeks in San Antonio. As a fellow United Methodist musician, I connected with Madolyn who graciously allowed me to practice on the Rosales organ at University UMC when we were in town. She was very careing and interested in our medical issues as well as having some fine Musical conversations. I will always remember her kindness (Our son grew up and is well at age 30).

I will always remember Madolyn playing the organ for our wedding. She made the day so much more memorable for Eli and me. Thank you for sharing your mother/grandmother with us. She has enriched so many lives through her music. Now she is joyfully reunited with her beloved husband Ed and comes into the glory of our Lord. Though we all grieve in losing her, let us celebrate the wonderful life Madolyn enjoyed, the blessings our Lord gave her and the eternal life she now shares with Jesus Christ. Madolyn is leading the heavenly choir now! Bask in her glorious music! We love you all. God bless you! - - - Theresa & Eli Vera
