Richard Flores Obituary

Richard C. Flores
October 22, 1946 - April 24, 2025
Richard C. Flores, a San Antonio native, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on October 22, 1946, he was preceded in death by his parents, Alicia and Christobal Flores; his late wife, Becky Flores; and his beloved French Bulldog, Louie.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; his daughters, Barbara "Bunny" Robinson and Elizabeth "Betsy" Gingerich and her husband, Mike; and his son, Chris and his wife, Alissa; and by his grandchildren, Michayla and Dylan; his brother, David "DD" Flores; sister- in-law, Jane; & nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his stepchildren, Nicholas Martinez and his fiancé, Nong, and Laura Costello and her husband, Jimmy; and his step grandchildren, Sam and Brandon.

Richard attended Thomas Jefferson High School and achieved an Advanced Minority Business Executive Program at Dartmouth College. His education laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

Alongside his late wife, Becky, they were the founders of Air-Stream Air Conditioning and Heating Co. Their joint venture blossomed into a successful enterprise still thriving more than 51 years later. The company not only provided comfort to countless homes and businesses but also created jobs and contributed to the San Antonio Economy.

Richard served on the Texas Board team which developed the testing for HVAC mechanical licenses. He held license TACLA000403C (Master level).

He served as member of the San Antonio Greater Chamber of Commerce and as their President from 2003-2005. Richard was also a member of the Kiwanis Club.

He enjoyed the years he spent with his fellow riders of "The Harley Owners Group"; his fishing friends; and his card playing buddies. Richard was always happy when he was able to head down to their second home in Rockport.

Beyond his professional achievements, Richard had many personal and spiritual accomplishments:
-Member of St. Matthew Catholic Church
-Member of St. Luke's Catholic Church
-Fourth degree Knight at St. Luke's Knights of Columbus
-Member of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem

Richard always placed his family first. He truly loved his wife, Irene; his daughters; his son; his family and friends.

We love you Richard and will carry you forever in our hearts.
