William Cox Obituary
William "Bill" Burkit Cox passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Bill was a kind and gentle soul - a selfless man who lived to serve. His greatest joy was being with his family and he took great delight in welcoming the birth of his first grandchild. As the owner of Construction Specialties, Bill was known for his knowledge, professionalism, and strong sense of service to his clients, and treated them like friends and "extended family." Bill is survived by his wife Elise Schonhoff Cox, his daughters, Marlise Burkit Rodriguez and husband Jorge and their son, Rixon Burkit Rodriguez, and Meghan Cox Rowntree and husband Robert "RJ". His siblings Elizabeth Stone, sons Sean and Michael; Suzy Lawton (Cappy), son Trevor and daughter Avery; James Cox (Amy), son Sam and daughter Morgan; Patti Diehl, son Riley; John Cox (Gayle), sons Ryan and Joshua; Carol Cox. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 8th at 3:30 pm, Our Lady of Grace on E Summit Ave (at McCullough). Reception to follow at Casa Alicia, La Fonda on Main.

Elise, Marlise and Meghan: We were shocked to learn of Bill's passing. In the years we had the opportunity to work with Elise and Bill, we always found him to be a pleasure. Bill built an addition to our home and it was a most pleasant experience. He always answered his phone no matter what whenever we called him. Even after he finished our job, I called him on several occasions to ask questions and he never failed to try and help me. We send our sincere condolences to the family. Bill will be missed by all who knew him, but always remembered.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bill and playing poker with him. Bill was always considerate and a wonderful person to be around in any setting. Bill was the person you always were happy to see. He will be sorely missed.
