James Leo Fallon

FALLON, JAMES LEO James Leo Fallon born August 5, 1939 in New York City, died December 23, 2007 in El Cajon, CA. Jim was a man who had done many things in his lifetime. He was a Corporal and a radio repairman in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco and trained in Beirut, Lebanon and Princeton, New Jersey; he was a Scholar of English Renaissance Literature who studied at the State University of New York in Albany, San Diego State University and the University of Wisconsin in Madison and he was a history buff. As an English teacher, he found good qualities in every student he taught; he could tell a good story, sing a great song and tell some pretty corny jokes. He loved good books and good music. Most of all, he was a man who loved and was deeply loved by his family. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patti, and his two children Matthew Fallon and Katie Fallon Hamlin. He is also survived by his son-in-law Jeff Hamlin and two grandchildren, Griffin and Autumn Hamlin, as well as his brother Richard Fallon in Coram, New York and his soon to be daughter-in-law Anna Webb. Services will be held at All Saint's Episcopal Church, 625 Pennsylvania Ave. in San Diego on January 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or one of Jim's favorite charities: Amnesty International, Children Inc., or the Southern Poverty Law Center.
