Allen Weipert Obituary

Surrounded by his loving family and in the comfort of his own home, Allen Edward Weipert made his final ride home on Sunday morning, Oct. 2, 2005. His path came to an end at the age of 65 due to complications from Pancreatic Cancer.

At the age of 13, Allen moved to San Luis Obispo with his family who were following work. He and his five younger siblings attended Mission Prep and SLOSH. Allen supported his family and three daughters as an electrician in SLO. After separating from his first wife, he married his soulmate and the love of his life, Sherry Weipert with her two daughters and two sons. Together they had one more child to complete their family?s circle.

Allen soon retired from the trade, at the age of 35, to focus on managing his rental properties which have housed thousands of SLO residents over the past 40 years.

Allen was a local biking icon, riding his Harley on SLO roads for over the past 50 years. He could often be seen at his favorite destination, the top of the hill in Avila, saying hello and giving his respects to "Mother." While riding, he would follow his other favorite hobby as an avid pinball player at a great number of supporting local businesses.

He was also a prolific artist, creating hundreds of paintings, sculptures and prints. Many people all looked forward to his yearly Christmas cards, which he hand signed and delivered to family and friends.

Privately, Allen was a minister in the Universal Life Church. He lived by the virtue to "only do that which is right" and that "his life was his ministry." He lived with this honor and truth every day.

Allen was a unique soul. His talent, determination, and success in life are a continuing inspiration to all who knew him. He has left a wonderful legacy for his friends and family. He will truly be missed.

He is survived by his loving

wife of 36 years, eight children, 16 grandchildren and one great-grand child. At his request, his family will be holding private cremation services. They urge that in lieu of flowers, all donations be made to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, 277 South Street, Suite R, San Luis Obispo CA 93401.

Just came across this obit 17 years later. I was shocked to learn of Allen's passing so soon after visiting him with my daughter Lauen upon his return from Japan. Miss you Brother. Have often remembered our adventures. Sending you love across the veil. Pax.
