Jonathan Bancroft Obituary

Jonathan "Dustin" Bancroft, 28, of Arroyo Grande, died suddenly and unexpectedly Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Pismo Beach. He was born in September 1980 in Simi Valley, Calif., to parents Jackie Bancroft and Steven Faber, and adopted by stepfather, Russell Bancroft. He attended Grace Brethren School in Simi Valley from pre-school to high school, 1983-1998 and then attended Moorpark Community College and Hancock Community College as an anthropology major. He worked for Cottage Inn by the Sea and found his dream job working on the Central Coast for Heritage Discovery performing archaeological digs. He attended New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Simi Valley and Agape Christian Fellowship in San Luis Obispo. Dustin is further survived by grandparents Reynolds and Faye Ritchie of Arroyo Grande; brothers Wesley, Luke, Matt and Greg; sister, Bethany; nephews, nieces, cousins and friends too numerous to count. A service will be held at noon, Thursday, June 25, 2009, at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, 2864 Sycamore Dr. in Simi Valley, Calif., (805) 522-3555. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St. in Chatsworth, CA 91311, (818) 341-0344. The sudden loss of Dustin was a very sad loss to our family. Dustin became our son's friend while in Jr. high school and soon he was a friend of the whole family. Dustin's mischievous
smile and fun spirit will be missed. I know his love and his family's love for the Lord will be there to comfort them and allow Dustin to live on. You were taken too soon. Bless you all and may peace be with you.

I first met Dustin at the office where Ashely and I work. He had a smile on his face and a joke to share. My heart felt prayers go out to his family and friends. I found this in my diary and would like to share it with you. "Remember...I'm There; In Your Heart...I know there is sorrow where laughter once played. And lingering tears, causing gladness to fade. But there's a sweet comfort our memories impart. So, always remember...I'm There, In Your Heart."

Dustin will forever be in my heart. I am so thankful for the love he showed to me and the support he gave to me in anything I wanted to do. He was a constant encouragement to me. Dustin was a one of a kind and I am so thankful I got to spend the rest of his life with him. He will forever remain alive in the hearts of those lives that he touched.

I have so many memories of Dustin and all of them involve laughing, joking, and having a great time! He was one of my best guy friends growing up and we could sit and talk about anything. I am completly shocked that someone I was so close to for a period in my life is gone. Dustin, you will be remembered always for all the laughter you brought to my life. I have worked with Dustin's fiance for a couple of years now. I only met him a couple of times but the times i did he was a nice, loving friend with a great personality and sence of humor. I wont forget how he made such a big impact on me after so little time. Thanks Dustin!

My son was a high school friend of Dustin's, he even lived with us for a short time after high school. He was a kind sensitive boy who had a great zest for life. Dustin, I am so sorry this happened to you. I know you loved to live life to the fullest and your life was taken way to soon. My heart goes out to your family in this time of sorrow. I hope God will heal their heart's soon. Although I didnt know you very well, what I did know was nothing but funny stories and your love for Ashley. Dustin, I just wanted to take the chance to say thank you for loveing Ashley. You were the best thing to ever happen to her! The love the two of you shared was like one in a million and you were eachother's soulmates for this life time. Ashley was always at her best when she was with you. I hope you knew how happy and complete you made her. She would have done anything for you as you would have for her. You gave her a love that she will keep close to her heart forever and she is a better person in this life because of you. You promised her you would love her until the day you died.
