Mildred Sylvia "Mimi" Haas

Mildred Haas Obituary

Mildred "Mimi" Sylvia Haas, 80, was born in New York to Alfred and Marie Marty and passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Bayside Care Center in Morro Bay.

In 1953, Mimi married George Haas in New York City - they met when they were young children and were reacquainted as young adults.

They moved to Southern California where they resided for over 40 years and in 1994, they made San Luis Obispo their home.

Mimi had many activities and interest - she was a secretary for the Y.W.C.A. of Orange County for many years, active member of the League of Women Voters, Friends of the Library, The Monday Club, Swiss Park Society and Boy Scouts of America.

Mimi loved visits from family and friends and was known for her traditional Swiss recipes and collections of jewelry and beads. We will always remember her and miss her dearly.

Mimi is survived by her son, Roger (Tammy) Haas; granddaughters Riley, Lacey and Emme Lou Haas, all of Morro Bay; son, William Haas of Fullerton, Calif., sister, Hilda Leslie; niece, Jeanette (Jim) Efird; nephew, Curtis (Anne) Leslie and family; and her many friends. Mimi is preceded in death by her loving husband, George.

A celebration of Mimi's life will be held at a later date.
