Patricia Ann Gorski Ybarra Patchett obituary

Patricia Patchett Obituary

Our beloved wife, mom, daughter, sister and auntie Patti went home to the Lord Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. Patti was born in February 1969 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Bill and Kathy, the third of four daughters. She lived in Milwaukee and Brunswick, Ohio, until she moved with her dad and sisters to Santa Paula, Calif., in 1979. She moved to San Luis Obispo in 1987 and married Christopher Ybarra in 1991. They raised their daughters in San Luis and Bakersfield, Calif. In 2008, Patti married Allen Patchett and blended their families of five daughters. Patti attended elementary schools in Milwaukee, Brunswick and Santa Paula, Calif. She graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calif., in 1987, and continued her education at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo to pursue her career in firefighting and paramedics. She was a student at the PCF Academy and firefighter in San Luis Obispo County, and a paramedic for AMR in Santa Barbara County. Patti's true calling was to be a paramedic. She loved nothing more than helping others in their time of need. Unfortunately, an injury during a rescue call ended her paramedic career. She continued her ministry of serving others by waitressing at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. Patti loved music, as we all saw through the dancing and heard through the radio blasting. She loved walking her dogs on the beach, hiking through San Luis' mountain trails and hanging out with her family and friends. We all loved it when she made dozens of tacos! Patti absolutely adored and cherished her family and friends. Patti is survived by her husband, Allen Patchett; parents, Bill and Carolyn Corrao; and daughters Jessica (Nick), Sabina (Colton), Krissy, Mikayla (Brandon) and Maddie. She is also survived by the father of her daughters, Christopher Ybarra; sisters Teresa (Ben), Caryn (Ron) and Sandra (Philip); nephew. Joey; nieces Ashley, Ericka, Faye, and Olive; in-laws Hap and Roberta Patchett; brother-in-law. Dan (Renae); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mom, Kathy; and grandparents. A celebration of Patti's life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Mountainbrook Community Church, 1775 Calle Joaquin in San Luis Obipso. The Patti Patchett Memorial Fund has been generously created for Patti's daughters at any Rabobank www.rabobankamerica.com. Correspondence to her daughters can be sent to Mountainbrook Church at the above address.

I have a few memories of Patti when we were young, we used to get into fun trouble together. One time that stands out the most is when we were throwing a baby inner tube up to the light fixture and broke, cut my shoulder and we were both scared to go tell our mom's. We walked out quietly and finally my mom (aunt Sandi) noticed and yelled at us but we were calm. On the way to the hospital we kept looking at each other and giggling. We must of been in shock I felt no pain (yet) and Patti was glad it wasn't her. We were just trying to have some more fun I suppose cause we didn't realize we would be getting grounded.
We had many good times together. If we lived in the same state I'm sure we would of stayed closer.
If you girls ever need anything. I am here for you. I Love you all.
May you find peace in your grief. I pray and hope that the Lord will be the source of your strength during this difficult time and always.
Love and always a part of me.
Valeri,

Dear Jess, Sabina, Krissy and Allen. I remember as a baby when your Grandpa and Grandma lived off 32nd and Scott in Milwaukee when your mom had a cast on the bottom half of her body. If I remember correctly she needed to have her legs or feet straightened. Your mom was so creative in finding ways to crawl to accomplish her task. She was a true survivor. Please take comfort in knowing she is with all of her family and friends that went before her. Love, Uncle Frank Germanson

We had many fun times growing up. Riding bikes, running up and down stairs at grandma and grandpas house. To our latest visit here in Wisconsin. I remember when uncle Bill said you guys were moving to California...I was devastated but you said we would always stay in touch. Patti has raised beautiful loving daughters, and I loved watching your pictures on FB. Amazing memories, there's a rough road ahead but I know you all will be ok, you all seem to be very close with a lot of family support. Stay strong. I'm going to miss you patti. I'm so sorry for your loss, my prayers are coming your way.

Memories that really stick out with you and I are sitting on grandpa Harry's lap as kids cleaning his face. Or going to see ET movie and we both balled our eyes out. Lol
The funniest one was when I came out to visit you and you took me to the beach. I laid out to get some sun. You warned me many times that the California sun was different from Wisconsin. Of course I blew you off and said "aww, it can't be that bad" Hmm, you were right, an hr later I looked like a one sided lobster. You made fun of me the rest of that day. Yup.....you were right.

I will always keep you in my heart. I will always keep our memories in my mind. I will always love you cousin forever??
