Robert Vang Obituary

Robert "David" Vang, 66, of Arroyo Grande and Lacey, Wash., died after a courageous nine-year battle with multiple myeloma on Friday, April 19, 2013. He was known to his many friends and family as David, and to his friends at work as Bob. He was a union electrician and a member of IBEW 413 in Santa Barbara for over 40 years. During that time he raised his family in Goleta. David enjoyed visiting his second home in the Jubilee Community in Lacey, where he and his wife, June spent time with their daughter and her family. David loved to play golf and especially enjoyed playing at the golf course at Jubilee. David is survived by his wife of 43 years, June; daughter, Katrina Kuncl (Tim); grandchildren Riley, Kelsey, Sophie and Avella Kuncl; mother, Margaret Vang; brother, Paul Vang; and sister, Barbara Vang. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Vang. No services are planned at this time.

Sorry to learn of Dave's death. I meet Dave in April 1967, at fort Ord. We were in the same basic training platoon, and training company at Ft, Devens. He was a good guy and my friend.

Dear June my sincere sympathy to you and your family for the loss of your husband and life partner. I saw you leaving Von's not too long ago and I wish I would have stopped you to say hello, but you seemed to be in a hurry so I didn't do it. I wish you peace. Love, Mary Ellen Maldonado

June-I was so sad to hear of your husband's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your kids and grandchildren. I remember you telling me that your husband would secretly drop pennies on the ground for kids to "find." I now do that too and what fun it is. May you find comfort in the memories and years you shared together.
