We grew to know Tommy through our shared love for cacti and succulents. We enjoyed each time we visited with him in the garden

To Bill and Mary Jane and your family, I was so saddened to read of the loss of your son. A tragic loss of such a beautiful soul. My Hope is that he is no longer in pain. I know the heavens are brighter because of his beautiful star.

I did not know Thomas but my thoughts are with his family and friends. I want to thank his family for putting it out there that there is an extreme shortage of help for these issues and although he wanted help it was hard to find. I believe if more people open up about this struggle it will bring attention to this issue so many of us face (myself included) and it could save lives. Thank you, and Thomas is in my prayers.

Our hearts are heavy with the loss of your son... our prayers go out to your family as you try to work through this very difficult time. It is a reminder of how precious the lives of our children are- I went straight to my daughter to hug her...so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I did not know your son or know his amazing family. I lost my son Michael to the same terrible disease 7 1/2 years ago. Please know that all of you as well as Tommy will be in my prayers. I'd like to thank you for being so honest about his struggles. I think it is very important for us to do that so that others might learn from our loss. May god bless you all. I'm sure the boys will keep the light on for us in heaven until we join them.

I am so sorry to hear about losing your beautiful son, Tommy. I'm writing because I unfortunately understand something about your grief. I lost my only child, Ian, at age 23 from the same things you wrote about Tommy. Thanks for sharing his wonderful childhood and fantastic traits. Thanks for your honesty about how difficult life can be for our young adults. If only our love was enough to carry them through the hardships.
I have found help and healing though the support group at Hospice, SLO. It might be a help to you at some point.
Hugs to you and your family.

Each day I read the SLO obits. I promised to never do that but as an old lady it has meaning. On a very rare occasion one catches my eye as your son. He has a wonderful history. May God give him peace and let him write stories in heaven. Thank you for sharing his life.
