David "Dave" Roberts passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 17th, 2021. Dave was born in Lafayette, Indiana on October 1, 1945. He was the older brother of Ginger (Roberts) Exner.
Dave's unique life began in childhood as he and his family were constantly on the move, living in Nevada, West Virginia, Alaska, Kentucky and many other states. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1968 and continued his education with pursuit of a master's degree from Arizona's Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Work was a passion for Dave. He began in Oakland working for a janitorial supply company and eventually made his way down to the fast-growing Santa Clara Valley where he became immersed in the packaging industry. He was proud of his accomplishments while serving as President of R.S.V.P., a packaging company formerly located in Soquel. In recent years he explored applications for cold-chain packaging with his company Monterey Bay Associates, or MBA, resulting in a patent being awarded in 2020 for his one-of-a-kind design for a temperature-regulating sports wrap.
Dave loved his family more than words can describe. He also treasured his 30-year friendship with his business partner, John Joss. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Renee (Raphael) Roberts and his twin sons, Nye and Samuel "Sam" Roberts.
