Dennis Knight Obituary

Dennis Edward Knight, 71, passed away at his home in Scotts Valley on November 29th, 2022. He quietly and valiantly fought a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. His wife, Rita, and sons, Ray and Curtis, were by his side. Dennis was born in San Mateo to Edward and Joann Knight. Dennis owned Live Oak Meat Market for many years and was considered the best meat cutter around. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita, his sons Ray Knight (wife Trista) and Curtis Knight (wife Ashley), four grandchildren: Kendyl, Ryder, William and Adeline, his three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 28th at 1:00 PM at VFW Post 7263 in Santa Cruz, where he spent many years rocking with his band. Come by, have a Budweiser, share a story and a laugh in honor of Dennis. In lieu of flowers, the Knight family would appreciate a donation in Dennis' name to the Scotts Valley Little League.

I have many fond memories of being with you and your wonderful family. Doing the poker with your dad while your band played . Visiting with your lovely mother, I always told her I wanted her to be my mom too. She was a very special lady Your sisters were sweet girls always so friendly and great big smiles ! You were blessed with a wonderful family and you knew it. You always put them and their feelings into consideration, and would do anything to make them happy. You were great guy.One of the nicest I´ve come across in my lifetime. The thing I admire the most is your hard work ethics, the love of your family and the kindness you always showed others ! Memories I will always hold near .Rest in peace, Dennis janell

To the Knight family,

I am very thankful I got to come to the memorial to celebrate Dennis and meet his friends and family. Dennis was a funny, kind and thoughtful person. I will miss his sarcastic one liners and seeing him around the clinic, I am glad I got to know him if only for a brief time.

From the first time I met you, until the last time I saw, there's nothing but great memories that I hold. You were always welcoming, with a smile and a cold beer. I'll make sure to look after Ray and Ryder for you. We're definitely going to miss the skirts steaks and jerky you used to bring! Rest easy.

You will be missed, Den Den.

Sincere condolences to Dennis's family. Our families were old time friends of Ed & Joann back in the Lucky 7 market days. Mom shared how she ran into Dennis & caught up after he recognized her after many years. Lots of nice childhood memories. Sincerely, Gina & Rosemarie Guerrero
