Scott Harvey Obituary

Scott W. Harvey
April 21, 1962 - February 1, 2018
32 Year Resident of Boulder Creek
A memorial ceremony will be announced soon, for a loving husband, father, and dedicated friend, Scott Harvey, who died in Sunnyvale after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning while commuting to work on his bicycle. Born in Portland, Oregon, he was 55 years old.
Scott moved to California in 1986. He began a career in 1989 as a systems analyst with Lockheed Martin, and his career in computer and missile technology spanned over 30 years. Scott never missed a day of work while at Lockheed, and his dedication will long be remembered by his co-workers and supervisors, who usually had to coax Scott to use his earned time off.
A self-professed tech-geek, he was immensely proud of his membership with the California Historical Radio Society whose members will truly miss his enthusiasm for their humble hobby and the boundless knowledge he loved to share with his colleagues.
He loved to display and collect early antique radios, and those of historic space and aeronautical significance.
He was a wonderful father and husband, whose gentle and kind demeanor will continue to help heal his family's tragic loss. Scott is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Yvonne Gruenstein-Harvey, his son Carson Harvey and daughters Sydney and Lillian Harvey all of Boulder Creek. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Marilyn Gruenstein of Felton, California and countless radio aficionados and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Jane Harvey of Portland, Oregon and infant daughter Samantha Harvey of Boulder Creek in 2000.
Any kind acts of charity can be made to the California Historical Radio Society. Please visit the Benito and Azzaro homepage to share your prayers and reflections with his family, and to check on information regarding an upcoming celebration of his life.

I'll never forget all the Iron Sharpens Iron interactions we had at work. In my humble opinion, Scott was one of the most giving co-workers I've ever worked with. He was a true professional, both methodical and meticulous and I'm extremely thankful for all the knowledge he's openly and wholeheartedly shared with me over the past several years. I will truly miss our long conversations and his presence. Rest in peace brother and I'll see you again up there. One clickey clickey, two clickey clickey.. (a personal phrase that Scott and I shared..)
