Brenda Dulay Obituary

Brenda Mamaligsa Dulay

December 14, 1973 - January 31, 2025

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brenda Mamaligsa Dulay, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community. Brenda's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

For more than 20 years, Brenda worked at Target, where she built lasting friendships and was known for her warm and welcoming spirit. Outside of work, she loved spending time with her family and embracing life's simple joys. She found happiness in traveling, especially on trips to Knott' Berry Farm, where she created some of her most treasured memories. Brenda also enjoyed playing BINGO locally and making special trips to the casino with her father. Brenda was not only an incredible mother and grandmother, but she also shared a very special bond with her daughter-in-law, Jessica Dulay. Their relationship was built on love, respect, and friendship-Jessica was not just her sons wife but truly another daughter in Brenda's heart.

Brenda dedicated over 20 years to the local baseball community, beginning her involvement as a team mom and continuing to support Santa Maria Babe Ruth and the Santa Maria Reds Baseball Club for many years. What started as a way to support her children quickly became a passion, and she poured her heart into the sport and its players. Most recently, she held the position of Babe Ruth President. Her presence at the ballpark was filled with warmth, making everyone feel like family.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart of 36 years, Robert Dulay; their children, Robert Dulay II and his wife, Jessica Dulay, and their daughter, Rianna Dulay; and her adored grandchildren, Aaliyah and Robert Dulay III, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Robert (Irene) Valdez, Teresa (Victor) Ramirez, Richard Valdez, and Fred (Michelle) Mamaligsa, as well as her sister-in-law, Rosalie Valdez. Brenda's love extended to a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Mamaligsa; her father, Federico Mamaligsa; and her brother, John Valdez.

Brenda embraced life with a spirit of adventure, a heart full of love, and a dedication to those she cared for. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering support will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A graveside service will be held on February 13th at 11:00 AM at Guadalupe Cemetery, with a reception to follow at The Cisneros Barn, 2750 Bull Canyon Rd, Santa Maria, CA 93454.

I remember the first time I met Brenda, it was in the Philippines during our grandfather´s funeral. When I saw her I was asking myself who´s this pretty girl? Little did I know I was introduced to her by my uncle Fred. He said this is your cousin Brenda from California. I was like wow, I have a white cousin. LoL! She was smart, very friendly, and playful. (But a crybaby and a daddy´s girl!) After our grandfather´s funeral we all went our separate ways back home and so did she, back to California. I told myself that one day I will go to California and see her again. I was 10yrs old then. 4yrs later I went to California to stay was my uncle Manuel who is Brenda´s dads brother. I begged my uncle to Manuel if we can visit Uncle Freddy, my cousins Brenda and Freddy boy. My uncle hesitated but eventually gave in. I stayed at Uncle Freddy´s house for a few weeks and gotten to know my cousins and was able to play with them. We played in the fields, around the train tracks (Uncle Freddy and Tia Rosie warned us never to play around the train tracks )and shared stories with one another. I was always fond of Brenda cause she was my pretty white cousin! LoL! I will never forget the little time when I briefly stayed with them in Santa Maria. I know one day I´ll see that smile again...... Rest in peace cousin.
