Julie Sanchez Obituary

Julie Anne (Klussman) Sanchez

March 29, 1961 September 16, 2022

Julie Anne (Klussman) Sanchez passed away on September 16 at her family home in Orcutt, California after a courageous battle against stomach cancer. Julie was born on March 29, 1961 in Whittier. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley, attended the Buckley School, and graduated from El Camino Real HS in Woodland Hills. She earned a BA in Journalism from CSU Northridge, then worked for Club Med and community nonprofits. Julie also worked in the executive offices of Amgen, URS (AECOM), and Vernon Construction. In 2017 Julie founded Venturoso Partners, dedicated to creating virtual workplaces for clients. Julie served on the Board of the Central Coast chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

Julie's greatest passions were her children and family, travel with husband Roger, bicycle and RV adventures, hiking Orcutt trails with her beloved dogs, and hosting gourmet foodie gatherings with friends and family. An accomplished writer, Julie's most recent project is "Cancer Looks Funny on You". Julie was the ultimate team player, vibrant heart of her family, always available for friends and colleagues. An accomplished athlete, she participated in equestrian competitions with her pony, played competitive softball, and completed triathlons and Avon's Walk for the Cure. Julie was a warrior in the battle against cancer, and never gave up her zest for life. Julie's bright intellect, warm smile, her quick wit and tender hugs will endure.

Julie is survived by her husband Roger L. Sanchez of Orcutt, California and their three sons, Austin E. Sacks, Nathan P. Sanchez (Natalie), and Roger V. "Ro" Sanchez. She leaves two grandchildren, Elliot "Eli" and Emma Rose. Julie is also survived by her mother, Patricia Klussman of Westlake Village. She was preceded in death by her father, William P. Klussman. Julie also leaves her dear friend Cindy Ericson, sisters Kristi King of Santa Barbara (Jeff), and Karen Lewis of Mendocino (Will), nieces Leina King, Carrie Tomlinson, Courtney Condren, and nephew Will Tomlinson. Julie's cousins Jeff, David, and Mark Paullin, and her aunt, Alyce Klussman, reside on the east coast.

A celebration of Julie's life will be held on November 12. Contact Roger: [email protected] for details.

Just learned of Julie´s passing. All my deepest, sincere, and belated condolences to all her family and close friends. I feel blessed and simply fortunate to have known Jules. And although we had not connected in many years, the memories of we teenagers all hanging out at the `ole Oakbrook Farm will live forever, and it all just seems like yesterday. I also remember reconnecting with one another at San Diego State during college years. Laughing together with our friends and playing softball on Saturday mornings. I always was bummed if Julie couldn´t´ play as Jules was our best center fielder. Always kind, always a great sense of humor, and always a good friend.

As I read the heartfelt memories posted upon this page, I was not surprised at all how many lives and hearts she touched. Not surprised either at all the contributions she made throughout her life´s journey. She surely left this world a better place. My love and prayers for all the family she leaves behind-

I reconnected with Julie after many years at the beginning of 2021 - our kids had gone to preschool together - she was "just the same" - strong, vibrant, sincere and funny - Gosh she fought so hard and I will always remember this wonderful woman

I work in an industry where customers become your friends and pretty much family. I am honored to have met Julie and Roger and assist them (sell just sounds bad right now) in the purchase of their rv. Always a bright light, always a smile and a hug....and hopefully a dog in tow. I feel comfortable in speaking for the entire team at Sky River rv, Pismo Beach, in sending our deepest condolences to the Sanchez family during this time. May God bless you all and carry you if and when neccessary. Much love to the Sanchez family and prayers for Julie as she watches over you all.

I never met Julie but I felt like I knew her well. She was the first person to reach out to me when I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. She encouraged me and made me feel like I could handle anything. She was so special to me. Prayers for her family and friends.

Julie will be greatly missed but well remembered for all she had accomplished in her shortened life. She was a beautiful soul, full of energy, passion and drive. A tragic loss.

Julie was a huge blessing in my life. She was always courageous, and she always had a smile no matter how hard the times. And her whistle! OMGoodness, I've been trying to emulate her wolf whistle ever since I first heard it! Impressive.
I would love to have eased her path more. She is missed, and dearly loved.
