George Kirshe Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY -After battling his cancer diagnosis with courage, stoic resolve, and determination, George W. Kirshe died peacefully on May 4, 2021 surrounded by his family.Born to Henry and Beverly Kirshe in Framingham, MA on April 29, 1960, George grew up in Wayland, MA, where he excelled in athletics. He earned a degree in business management and marketing from New Hampshire College, which is now Southern New Hampshire University. After college, George moved to Boston and worked in finance. He later transitioned into the textile industry, where he spent over 20 years and eventually built his own company. George’s career was expansive as he also worked in the computer software industry. Most recently, he was the Director of Client Enrichment for United Solutions.A resident of Saratoga Springs for over 20 years, George will be remembered by all who knew him for his great sense of humor and his honesty – he always told it like it was. He loved the challenge of a good project and could fix just about anything with an uncanny attention to detail – from cars, to household machinery, to computers. Although, he was always the happiest spending time with his family on the beach, especially at sunset. He was a loyal and dependable husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Very simply, George loved helping others. He was always quick to offer his help to anyone in need, regardless if they were a friend or foe. George was most proud of his children. He was their biggest fan at countless sporting events, and encouraged them as they pursued a new hobby. They always went to him for advice. He was always there to pick up the pieces and sort things out. They respected and loved him deeply. His legacy will live on through them.A loving husband and devoted father, George’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Sandi. Together they raised daughter, Courtney, and twin sons, Henry and George. Left to cherish his memory beside his immediate family are his mother, Beverly Kirshe of Delray Beach, FL, his brothers, Mark of Knoxville, TN, Greg (Liane) of Hopkinton, MA, Scott (Nancy) of Bradenton, FL and Peter (Becky) of Warrington, PA, his cousins, Cindy (Rick) McLaughlin of Manchester, NH and Chip (Kim) Walter of Damascus, MD. In addition, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Kathy Crumb of Malta, NY, sister-in-law, Robyn (Bruce) Houseworth of Queensbury, NY, brothers in law, Pete (Melissa) Gooley of Hopkinton, MA, Chris (Kathy) Gooley of Hopkinton, MA, Dana (Leah) Gooley of Brookline, MA, Terry (Brenda) Gooley of Bristol, VT and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his father Henry and his aunt and uncle, George and Gloria Walter. George’s family extends beyond relatives and includes many dedicated friends who have all been a great support throughout his illness.George and his family are very grateful for the extraordinary care that he received from Kelly Foley, Dr. John Pezzulo, Dr. John Mongan and the staff at his office. George Kirshe was one of my first interviews at Western Textile. I asked him how he did in school and proceeded to tell me how he got a D in a certain subject. The other finalist to be interviewed was a smooth talker. We hired George!

George was funny, a tireless worker and an agile smart thinker on his feet. Super street smart.

When Western was sold, George helped the company in its transition selling off inventory. I admired him for staying positive and seeing a job through where others might have seen just the negative and froze in fear.

I lost touch with George and was in search of connecting when I came across to hear of his passing.

I´m so sorry to Sandi who sent us Family Christmas cards for years and to the entire Kirshe Family

George was one of the first neighbors who gave us such a warm welcoming into the neighborhood. He had gone out of his way on multiple occasions to ensure our transition to Saratoga was going well. I gathered this was George´s nature to be such a kind and altruistic man. I would like to extend our deepest condolences for your loss.

Sandi, Courtney, Henry, and George, I too am familiar with losing a father at a young age, it will be 8 years on the 13th, one of the hardest things to go through. Even though he is physically gone, I promise you, you will always feel his presence with everything you do!

Please feel free to stop over anytime if you need anything or would just like to talk. Sometimes it´s nice to talk with someone who has gone through this.
Warmest Regards
Kevin and Tricia

George will be sorely missed at United Solutions and in general. As you all know, he was a man of extraordinary wit and good humor. His beaming smile and jovial nature along with keen intellect and ability to pierce through the malarkey made him a powerful personality. George knew no strangers and to know him was to like him. Our lives are richer for having known and experienced George. Our hearts are broken for your loss and please know that your family remain in our thoughts and prayers as you grieve the loss of your beloved George. GOD Bless You ALL !

Sandi, Courtney, Henry & George-
My heart goes out to you all in this extremely difficult time. Know that you’re being wrapped in love by so many. I will never forget late nights standing around the island chatting and laughing (for hours sometimes!) with you both after you came home from a date night. I will always cherish those moments. George’s humor was the best, he always had everyone laughing. Love to all of you.

Sandi and family-
Please know that I have been praying for all of you and I will continue to keep you in my thoughts. I cannot express how sorry I am that you are having to go through this. I always remember George as being so funny and helping me tease Robyn- he was good at that! You are lucky that you had such a wonderful husband and loving father of your children. I know there is nothing I can say to take away your pain, but just know he will always be with you.
Thinking of you,
