Brian Brinkman Obituary

Brian F. Brinkman
Born: July 20, 1941 in Sterling, IL
Died: March 11, 2022 in Prophetstown, IL
Brian Frank Brinkman, 80, of rural Erie, IL died peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Allure of Prophetstown. There are no services planned. He will be cremated with private burial in Leon Cemetery, Prophetstown. Memorials may be made to the Erie Ambulance. Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Erie, is assisting with arrangements.
Brian was born on July 20, 1941 in Sterling, IL the son of Richard and Dora (Backer) Brinkman. He grew up on their family farm in Prophetstown and moved to Erie as an adult.
He continued to work in farm related areas as a farmhand, delivering LP fuel, and delivering farm equipment. At his jobs, and at home for family and friends, he was always a hard worker and willing to help. Brian had also been a proud member of the Whiteside County Mounted Patrol. He was married to his wife, Linda, for 37 years before her passing. Throughout his life Brian enjoyed going to tractor pulls, bowling, horseback riding, playing cards, snuggling his cats, and telling stories. He loved telling the story of how he had a twin brother, but that they had different birthdays because he was born just before midnight and Bill was born just after.
Surviving are his two daughters, Marcy (Ray) Graham, Fenton and Cammy (David) Skinner, Erie; grandchildren, Justin, Leah Price; and Aubrey (Zach), Christopher, and Hunter (Shelby) Graham; step-daughter, Kelli (Jeff) DeCap, Geneseo; step-grandchildren, Drew (Ashley), Dalton, and Dawson DeCap; sister, Carol Anderson, Springfield, MO; and cousin, Sharon (David) Bagby, Tampa, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; sister, Darlene Easley and brother,
Alan "Bill" Brinkman.
The family would like to extend their greatest appreciation to his special caregiver, Billie Cowan, and each of the wonderful caregivers that Brian was so very fortunate to have in his life the last 3 years. They truly were his extended family, and the love and kindness they shared with him daily will never be forgotten. Share a memory or condolence at www.gibsonbodefh.com
