Died: August 12, 2022
David Leslie Burke, 68, of Dixon, passed away on, Friday, August 12, 2022, at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore, IL. He worked for Pizza Hut located in Dixon and Rochelle for 40 plus years becoming the owner and operator for the last 5 years.
David was born July 22, 1954, in Battle Creek, MI, the son of Lloyd and Leslie (White) Burke. He married Becki Carr on October 3, 1987, in Amboy, IL. David served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing poker. Most of all David loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his, wife of 34 years, Becki Burke of Dixon; one daughter, Leslie Burke of Dixon; three grandchildren, Kyler Burke, Anthony Burke, Jennifer Burke; seven siblings, John (Betty) Burke of San Antonio, TX, Robert (Alan) Burke of Kansas City, MO, Suzanne Burke of Battle Creek, MI, Tim (Cathy) Burke of Charlotte, MI, Dennis Harper of Auburn, IL, Shelia Harper of MO, Dean (Brandy) Harper of Moline, IL; along with many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 pm on, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Lincoln Way: A Destination Inn, 409 N. State Street, Franklin Grove, IL 61031. Cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.

Becky and family, gosh where do I begin on Dave. I´ve had lots of memories with him and Becky with working for them for about 5 years? He was good to me and when I left he gave me a going away party for me at his house. Family and friends was so kind. We had our moments but I loved working for him. Becky we made up some good food when it wasn´t busy and I think we started the dessert pizza, just saying. I wish I lived closer I would be there. Sending hugs and try to remember the memories and laughter.
