A mutual friend, Rev'd Dayton Dewey, who had overlapped with John while studying at General spoke generously of him, and I had the pleasure of meeting John during his visit to London in approx. 1992.

A wonderful man, faithful Priest, a loyal friend & colleague of 40+ years.... i will sorely miss his candor, wit, intelligent repartee, opera & dinner companionship, French repartee, and Anglican gossip ( all of which was true).... and our frequent phone conversations which always left me laughing... there is a hole in my heart with his loss...
