Joseph Ray McCallister, 85 of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at his residence in Clinton, Tennessee.
Joseph was born on April 23, 1938 in Rock Falls, the son of Joseph and Mary (Clapper) McCallister. He married Nancy Popkin on May 17, 1974 in Sterling. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2022. Joe worked for the City of Rock Falls for 25 years until his retirement.
Survivors include one son, Michael McCallister; two daughters, Theresa (Rick) Danner and Lisa (Shawn) Bennett; step-daughter, Laura Wade; He is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; step children, Michael Bell, Debra Warren, and Scott Denning; four brothers; six sisters; and three grandchildren, Jason Christensen, Justin Warren and Chad Wade.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Brian Tribley officiating. Burial will conclude at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
