David Jody Blanton - GLENNVILLE - David Jody Blanton, 69 passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long battle with diabetes. He was born December 9, 1946 to Bud and Eva Stanfield Blanton living in Glennville all of his life. He was retired from ITT Rayonier mill in Jesup after 34 years of service as Finishing Room Foreman. He was co-owner of Pine Forest Nursery and Florist and Landscaping and a member of Jesup Masonic Lodge # 112, Alee Shrine Temple of Savannah and Scottish Rite of Brunswick. He was a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church and preceded in death by parents and a brother, Ben Blanton. He is survived by, Wife of 50 years, Judy Ray Blanton of Glennville; Children, Rachelle (Ritchie) Swindell of Glennville, Amy (Buz) Cromer of Reidsville; Sisters, Nadine Waters of Glennville, Millie Privett Rabou of Jesup; Brother, Richard (Mary Ann) Blanton of Glennville; Six Grandchildren, One Great Grandchild, several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Saturday January 30, 2016 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
