Mr.Hugh picked me to be his boat captain. I got to spend eight of the absolute best years of my life with him and his wonderful family and friends. The world has lost a true Monarch. I was proud to stand in his shadow.

I knew Mr. Tarbutton quite well, I met him very soon after I went to work in the Southern Railway Operations Control Center in 1974. He was always so very nice to me and it was a pleasure doing business with him. The railroad industry has lost one of it's giants with his passing. May he rest in peace.

Dear Gena,
Susan and I send our love and sympathy to you and your family. Please know that we grieve with you.
Hugh was a special friend and I had looked forward to seeing much more of you and Hugh at meetings of the North Carolina Cincinnati when I became President in April. He promised as much at the Triennial in Princeton.
With love to you,

The bible calls God "the source of all life." (Ps 36:9) The One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died.

Gena, I am so sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. I remember well the beautiful wedding you had at Ingleside Baptist Church and your reception at the country club. I had my first taste of champagne there and my mom threatening me not to get tipsy (your Aunt Bessie). I pray for comfort and strength during this time of loss for you and your family. I hope I can see you soon. You are such a beautiful person inside and out.
