Memories and Condolences
for Pauline Hatcher

Not sure what to say?

I was hoping the "Pauline" in the SK mag. today was not Polly - but knew it probably was. I remember her as one who wasn't afraid to stand up & say what she thought. Along with the little blue car & crazy room 17, for some reason, I remember her expressing that not all people should be Chiefs - Indians were pretty important, too! And think of her making THAT particular statement even today - for situations I come upon here & there. Don't know many details here, but sympathise with you all!

It wasn't too long ago that I was looking at a sorority composite and thought of Polly. I remember her coming to rush-she looked so little and studious with big glasses but turned out to be so much fun. I especially remember her little blue convertible! It is obvious how admired and cherished Polly was; she made a difference
-God bless her loved ones-

I was so saddened to hear about Polly's death just today through the EK Triangle. My mother passed away in early March and I just must have missed it in the paper. Polly was such a joyous person and always fun to be around. She could make you laugh!!!!

My prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends during this time as I know grief lingers ....

I just read about Polly in today's issue of the Sigma Kappa Triangle. I was not in Athens as long as she was, but we were in the same pledge class. She even came home with me once and we went to the Gator Bowl together - Two Obnoxious Georgia fans at a game where UGA was not playing. She was full of fun, laughter and adventure. Even though we lost touch, I still thought about her from time to time. She was not a person ever to be forgotten.

While I was only fortunate enough to know and work with Polly for the last two years at TCDI, I have to say she really made such a big impression on me. She was by far the best boss I've ever had, and her guidance will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Bonnie, and all of Polly's family.

April 12, 2007

I was just sharing with a co worker and friend that I was thinking of Polly. I had no idea she was sick, She hired me when she worked for Superior Court of Fulton County. Polly was a wonderful person to work with. My prayers are going up for all of her family. Sincerely, Casandra

To the family and friends of Polly,
Today as I opened the envelopes with
donations to the Liberty Humane Shelter, my eyes filled with tears and my heart was touched by the generousity of the ones who loved Polly. Thank you all so much for considering our shelter for donations.
I know Polly must have been a wonderful loving person to have touched so many lives. And those people have touched our lives and the lives of the animals at the shelter by sending their donations.
Please know that we appreciate your kindness.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Sandra Frye

Nick and I have so many wonderful memories of Polly...When we moved to our tiny apartment on Myrtle Street in Atlanta, we met Polly on the first day...just when we really needed a friend. From that day on we had so much fun together as neighbors and close friends. When Alex was born in 1996, I still remember Polly's words when she visited us in Piedmont Hospital.."precious child". She had a wonderful way with words. She had a wonderful way with people. We are blessed to have shared a portion of our lives with Polly. Our thoughts are with Bonnie and Polly's family and our memories of Polly are alive in our hearts.

I'm very sorry to hear of Polly's death. I knew Polly at the University of Georgia, where she was a Sigma Kappa and I was a ZBT. ZBT's and Sigma Kappas hung out a lot together and we always had a lot of fun. I miss those days and those old friends very much. Polly was a lovely person and her death is very saddening.

Thinking about Polly reminds me of the way Leslie, Michael and she rode around town in that cute sports car. She never disappointed me in any thing I asked her to do - she did it well and with enthusiasm. I think about her spirit and the way she could share the happiest thoughts with us. My sincerest wish is that the happy moments live with all of us because that means she does too.

It has been some years since our lives have taken us in different directions, but I will always cherish Polly's laughter, wit and sharp intelligence. Warm afternoons and cold beers, commiserating and celebrating everyday life, are the memories I keep close. My condolences to Bonnie and Polly's family -- I cannot describe my shock and sadness.

I worked with Polly at King & Spalding. Like so many others who were drawn to her by her charm, warmth, wisdom and smile, I am deeply grieved and bewildered by her unexpected death. Polly and I shared a great passion and love for animals, and we spoke of our "fur babies" often. She will be truly missed.

We just heard the news yesterday afternoon. Condolences to her partner, her family & her chosen family. What a loss! I will always remember her for all the happiness she brought to so many people, including myself. She was such a wonderful, fun, giving person. She will truly be missed. I will never forget the MANY Midtown "get-togethers" at her home.

I am struck that many of us from "the Athens days" speak of Polly with virtually one voice. Polly was, quite simply, the center; she was the center of laughter, clever wit, friendship, loyalty, truth, and fun. Polly was a true friend with all that that implies. My thoughts and prayers are with Bonnie and her family at this sorrowful time.

March 29, 2007

I haven't seen Polly since our days in Athens but I remember her well. She was a few years older than me and made such an impression. She was wise and witty and someone I aspired to be like. My thoughts and sincerest condolences are with her family.

I used to work with Polly at King & Spalding. She was a great friend, a wonderful co-worker and an awesome human being. I was shocked and terribly saddened by her sudden passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Bonnie and Polly's entire family.

March 29, 2007

After reading all the entries here from other Sigmas Kappas, I am afraid mine won't sound much different. She was the center of all things fun; she was so smart and funny and so very full of life. We had so much fun together in college and after college. I never knew anyone who didn't think the world of Polly. I always felt lucky to be her friend. Bonnie, you and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am in shock over Polly's death. I will miss her contageous grin. We had so much fun together in Athens. She was a sorority sister, but I will always think of her as my Sister. My heart goes out to the family. She was a true gem.

Barb Dickinson

March 28, 2007

My thoughts and prayers go out to Bonnie, Polly's family, and her extended family of friends. Some of my fondest days at UGA involved Polly's laughter and adventures. May her memories and laughter linger on.

I'm shocked and saddened by the news... Polly was a great roommate and a dear sorority sister. She was always so smart and so funny...a joy to be around. Our years in Athens went so very quickly, but every moment was a blast. I'll miss Pol greatly…

Donna Robertson

March 28, 2007

I am still in shock from the news. Polly had so much charisma that she was always at the "center" of what was happening in our sorority. She was sharp as they come and really witty. I loved hanging out with her. I am so sad to know that I won't be able to share that with her ever again. Even though it has been many years since I last saw her, I had always hoped that we would cross paths again - maybe not in this life, I guess. Uh, what a loss.
