Dear Ernie & Helen,
Learned of Ramon's passing from Tordsen at Matson. My condolences to you and rest of the Cuya family. It is very difficult when a child leaves before the parents. But know that the many friends and relatives are here for you.
Sorry but I made two attempts to send you a card but the last one came back as address vacant at 790 Stoneman Ave, Pittsburgh 94565.

Wow! I just saw Dennis about 6 months ago at Chuckie Cheese for his son's birthday party and I hadn't seen him or Ramon in about 20 years or so. I asked him how Ramon was doing and he said he was doing fine and loving life in Georgia.
Ramon and Dennis taught me how to play tennis......and we used to play Kung Fu theater back in the day. Lol! Fun times!
Ramon was a very nice guy, and his loss will felt by all he touched in life. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dennis and the rest of the Cuya family. We love you.

Cuga,
I'm still in disbelief, just hoping that I will soon wake up from a very bad dream. Maybe that's why it took me so long to post my message. 20 years is a long time to know someone. Seeing someone and actually being glad that you did. Whether you knew it or not , you taught me how to let some of the small things go. You left a model for all of us to follow. Despite those times when we talked and I told you that you needed to be hard, tough..stand your ground. And of course, You never listened and I am glad that you didn't, Because if you did, it would have made you a different person. Thanks for being you. Thanks for being a friend. Like your Father said, The GOOD die young... JEHOVAH has work for you to do. I just hope that I will get a chance to see you again...till the next time, Brother.

I know he is watching over us up there Cuya family, smiling like he always did. Reassuring us when we are down and laughing when we are happy. Keep your heads up Cuya's, I know I am. I can still see his face the day we met in the hallway of our Army barracks back in 1987. From that day on we became brothers for life. We shared some good times together and thats what I will miss, but those memories will be how I remember him the most. I miss you so much Ramon.

Lisa,
I wish I had a magic wand that would make the pain go away and bring Ramon back to you. But, I not have one;the only thing I can do is be there for you when you need to scream, yell and or cry as well as listen to you express your emotions. I will be there to remind you of the 20 years that you shared with Ramon.
Ramon will be greatily missed but I know you will miss him the most. As I mention to the Cuya 3 (Asia, Diamond and Ramon Jr.) on those rough days close your eyes and listen for Ramon's voice saying "I love you" and see the smile on his face when ever he looked at you.
Just know that he is still keeping close watch of his family. You know that he sitting close to God watching the latest movies, playing tennis, cruising on the golden cloud yelling out " what's up" and finally speaking so highly about his family.
Remember all the good times you shared.
Love,
LaDonna

To Cuya Kids (Asia, Diamond and Ramon Jr.),
Please remember every special occasion you shared with your dad for it will be the memories that will see you through the sad days. When you are having a rough day please close your eyes and hear Ramon tell you "I love you". The biggest thing that I admired most about your dad is that he told you that he loved you daily.
Remember to relay on each other, keep the lines of communication open and know it is okay to have bad days. If ever need an ear to listen to you and or a shoulder to cry on, please know that you will always have one in me as well as other family members and friends.
Love,
Aunt LaDonna

To the entire Cuya Family,
It is so difficult to find the words to express how very sorry I am for your loss. I've known Ramon since Dennis and my sister Jen introduced us to each other back in the 9th grade. My mom moved my sister and I to Pittsburg from San Diego back in 83. Dennis and Hector were the first of several that my sister introduced me to. When I met Ramon, I remember the hand shake, and THAT SMILE....like it were yesterday. The transition was not an easy one for me...but, Ramon made it somewhat easier. When I asked my mom to move us back to San Diego...saying good-bye to Dennis, Hector, the rest of our Campus Life Crew and ESPECIALLY Ramon was difficult to do. Mr. Cuya drove Ramon to San Diego just for my 9th grade grad. and again just before Ramon left to Georgia. Ramon and I kept in touch for a short while after leaving for Georgia. It wasn't 'til 6yrs ago we got back in touch with each other again, and was able to see each other at Dennis' wedding. My mom, my sister Jen and I had't been back to Pittsburg since we left in 84...then, after 20yrs it was a happy moment since that's where our history started...but, sad that it was for the funeral of Ramon. I was grateful to have met Alissa and the kids that Ramon talked so much of. I will ALWAYS REMEMBER how VERY SWEET, KIND, CARING and LOVING Ramon was. It was nice knowing him from the young man he was...to the MAN he bacame...the WONDERFUL HUSBAND, stern but LOVING FATHER, and THE GREAT FRIEND he was to all who knew him. Alissa, I will continue to pray that the Lord will guide you and keep you strong for your kids. Always know that you're not alone and that you have a lot of people that care for you and love you very much.

To my sister, nieces, nephew, Mr. & Mrs. Cuya,Dennis,Elz and the entire family of Ramon,
I must say we all have been truly blessed to have known Ramon and encounter his hellos, smiles, friendships, and "peace outs". I have never heard him say a negative thing about anyone even during the roughest of times. He was always the first to step in to help his fellow man or woman.
His kind heart was reflected in the time he spent going to the movies with his friend Man. The special moments that he spend with each of his children one on one. The fact the he had that uncanny ability to make everyone feel like the most important person for the moment. Never going against my sister's decision even when he knew I was right about the heated topics.
The first time I met Ramon he was so nervous because he was going to meet my parents for the first time. I explained to him that he did not have to worry about them for I am the one he need to be concern with when it came to my sister Alissa. I had ran off others that wanted to marry her because I know they were not the one for her. After I met Ramon I knew he was the one for Alissa and I was right for look at what the union produced. My beautiful nieces Asia and Diamond as well as my handsome nephew Ramon Jr.
I could go on forever, the last thing I need to say is this, Ramon was more like a brother instead of brother in law. I would do any thing for him and I will TRULY, TRULY MISS HIM, HIS SMILE AND PEACE OUT.
LOVE YOU, LADONNA( SIS)
Ramon rest in peace and keep looking out for your family and friends.

Ramon, I won't be able to look forward to your quick but sweet and short phone calls on: Mother's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. I still cannot believe that this happened to you. You are gone, but most of all YOU ARE MISSED!!! I hope you felt how much you were LOVED, and I hope you know how much hearts that you touched. We only had 6 months of high school to get to know each other, but we did treasure our friendship.
To the family that has been left behind:
Take one day at a time, I hope you have begun to heal. He is resting peacefully now.....Just know that the lives/hearts that Ramon Cuya touched, you are ALL part of those lives. If there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate to call upon us. Let's keep in touch!

Dearest Cuya Family,
Our hearts go out to all of you during this difficult time of loss and grief...
Dearest Elz,
I hope you find peace and solace to know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember growing up meeting you (at Great America during the "Matson" Company picnic), then meeting again at Central JH, and meeting Dennis and Ramon. I remember how we used to go to your house afterschool and Dennis and Ramon would tease you so much they would try to make you cry just to embarass you!! But I also remember how they were very protective of you, as any other big brother would of their baby sister.
I wish I could express the right words to ease the sorrow and pain, but I hope one day, you will take comfort in knowing that you have a special guardian angel to continue to protect and watch over you.

Lisa, Asia, Diamond and Hoolio, my prayers are with you all, I am sadden just as well about my best buddy. Ramon and I shared some good times while I was in Ga. There was never a time that he didn't invite me to sit at the dinner table and have dinner with you and the family. I can sit day in and day out and remember the day before my graduation from the Marines and Ramon showing up for family day with a birthday cake for me. Also the day that I returned home from Hawaii from the USMC and calling him days in advance and hearing the happiness in his voice as he offered to pick me up from the airport. "A man that was always willing to lend a helping hand." Those are only some of the memories that I have of him, but his favorite saying to me was "Girl you got to be somebody." I will miss hearing his voice when we will call one another just to say hi and keep in contact. He was a very loving person with the biggest heart that noone can ever top. So Lisa and kids, keep your head up and remember that he loved you guys all so very much. As I will call him, "Mr. Romeo rest in peace" we love you but our Master love you best.

To Lisa, Asia, Diamond and Ramon, Jr: We are so very sorry for your loss. Everyone who knew Ramon was touched by his big smile and warm and gentle spirit. EVERY TIME we saw Ramon, it was, "Hey, what's up?" We knew him as a neighbor and also as my husband's co-worker for many years. Our kids have grown up together. We already missed ya'll in the neighborhood, but we always knew you were close by.
I know there are no words anyone can say to truly and accurately express our sorrow over Ramon's passing or adequately define the loss you are feeling now. Please be comforted by the knowledge that there are so many people praying for your family. We can never understand from this side of heaven why God chooses the time he does, but remember he must have needed that wonderful smile and loving spirit more with him now more than we did.
God Bless and keep each of your in his tender care until the day we meet him in the sky!!

My family and I want to express our sincere condolences for your unexpected loss. I didn,t know Ramon that well, but I do know that he was a kind, caring person. My family and I came to Rincon to see my brother, Donald, who was Ramon,s father-in-law, he welcomed us into their home and made us comfortable. My brother often said that he appreciated all the help that Ramon gave him during the time that he was ill. First, let GOD help now, and with all aspects of your life in the future, then rely on your family and friends. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.....Ramon Rest In Peace.

To the Cuya family,
I don’t know where to start. Our family was heartbroken to hear of the loss of a dear friend. Ramon was my first tennis mixed doubles partner. What a wonderful person he was, like a brother. He always had a smile on his face and made everyone feel welcome. He loved his family and you could see the excitement in his eyes when he talked about them. It’s rare to meet someone with such a brilliant personality as his. He was always there to help anyone and never asked for anything in return. Ramon, you will be missed forever and to his family may God bless you.
Sincerely,

Dear Helen, Ernie and family: The news of Ramon's passing away brought tears to my eyes. Although I have not seen Ramon for a long time I know that he is a nice, pleasant, and likeable guy loved by everybody. The Lord makes so many good things happen in our lives that we might think He abandoned us when sorrow comes along. But the Lord knows when we're hurting and it's then that He draws closer to us. He asks us to trust Him and He promise to be with us.......always. May the love and peace of God sustain you and your family during this time of sorrow.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ramon was an amazing human being, and I can honestly say that I'm a better person just by knowing him.
I met Ramon in Kindergarten, and even back then you could tell he was going to be the life of the party. He was fun, and kind, and was always willing to share his lunch with me. I knew he would be my life-long friend when he split his Pittsburger with me ; )
I'm so glad he found the love of a good woman. He talked about you with such love, Lisa. Thank you for making him happy.
And he ALWAYS beamed about his children. Asia, Diamond, and Ramon Jr., I want you know that your father touched so many lives. He was one of a kind, a true original... a loving friend with a HUGE heart. And thankfully, through you three, he will live on. I know you'll make him proud.

To the Cuya Family,
Your family has suffered a great loss but as endured years of love and respect because Ramon expressed this always in his attitude and his loving words. I worked with Ramon in shipping and knew him also a family friend. His caring words and reassurance that everything would be ok after my mother pasted unexpectedly, showed that Ramon always expressed a positive outlook. And with that being said I send many blessings and prayers to your family in their time of grief. Ramon loved you all so much and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Cuya family, Each one of you are in our families prayers.Ramon and I worked together for over 15 years at GP. We also played many games of tennis together over the years. He will be truly missed by us all. My son will again play tennis for South Effingham and will play each match in Ramons' honor as I know he will be watching over us. God Bless

To the Cuya Family,
I was devastated and saddened to hear of the loss. It was just not too long ago that I have seen him since high school over 20+ years ago. He came to the house looking as great as ever, like he never missed a beat!! He always had such a funny personality! My heart and prayers go out to his family. He will be greatly missed!!

To the family of Ramon,
I am very sorry for your loss and ours. The people at GP will never forget him. He was such a nice guy. There was never a time that when I'd pass him that he wouldnt speak and ask how I was doing. He always had a smile on his face. I pray for peace for your family. May all the great memories you have bring you some comfort. God Bless you all.

Dear Cuya Family -
My deepest sympathy is with you during this difficult time. I knew Ramon in high school, and instantly recall memories of his non-stop sense of humor, kindness and warmth. Always friendly, funny, and willing to lend an ear - that was the Ramon that is in my heart and memory.
My love and support is with you and your entire family. May time, sweet memories, and love help you heal.

To the entire Cuya Family~
Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. My heart goes out to all of you....
Although it has been many years since I have seen his big smile, it's hard to forget the warmth of it. I went to school with him and he never had a bad thing to say about anyone and always seemed to know how to make the room light up! What I remember mostly about him besides his smile is that he had a talent for making people feel at ease and want to smile right along with him. I am glad he found love and happiness in his life.

Cuya Family, As many others have already written he was a man that always had a smile on his face and could always put a smile on the faces of everyone around him. I also can never remember hearing him say a negative or bad comment about anyone. He will be dearly missed by all. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

To the Cuya family,
I worked with Ramon for many years and I can not think of one person that was as honest, genuine, caring or as full of life as him. He was a true friend. I do not recall one time that Ramon didn't have a smile on his face or did not bring happiness to anyone around him. He will be sadly missed and all of our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

To The Cuya Family.
It is indeed a great sadness in the death of your love one. I met Ramon and Alissa on a cruise we took about 2yrs ago, I didn' know anyone on the cruise but when I met the two of them they made me feel like family. May you all find comfort in knowing that Ramon is in a better place. God is still good. ( Georgia Pacific Employee, Bernard Johnson)

To the Cuya Family,
I was saddened to hear of you loss. I was able to reconnect with Ramon on a recent trip here to California. He questioned if I remembered his name since it had been many years. We go way back to elementary school, being familly friends there is no way I could forget him. As many of you a can attest to, he has touched many of us in some way or form always extending an arm for a hug or hand to shake.
Seeing him that day opened that door to so many memories of our youth. He will be missed.

To the family of Ramon Cuya,
I first met Ramon my senior year of high school while working at a local video store. He always came in with a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. After that, it did not matter where I saw him, he always greeted me with a "What's up girl?" and a smile. He will no doubt be missed by the many people whose lives he touched just from the kind words & that smile. My thoughts are prayers are with his famliy.

I still can't believe that this happened. Mr. Cuya was such a funny and kind-hearted man. Anytime me and Diamond wanted to go somewhere he would take us. I loved singing Michael Jackson with him. I can still hear him calling me "Brandeh." People would try to imitate it but no one could say it like he could. I'm so sorry Mrs. Cuya. I'm thinking about you, Asia, Diamond and Ramon <3.
