Rosario Nunez, Jr. Obituary

July 13, 1944 - February 28, 2018
Our beloved father was called home to be with the Lord on February 28. He left this world peacefully from his residence in Rialto, surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in San Bernardino to Rosario and Dometila Nunez. He was one of 15 children. He retired from the City of San Bernardino in 2003, where he worked 40 years at Pioneer Cemetery. He enjoyed fishing, sci-fi/horror movies, barbecuing, listening to mariachi music, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed various sports, but nothing compared to watching his Oakland Raiders. He presided over the Royal Angels social club for several years, whose contributions helped those less fortunate. Dad treasured the friendships he formed through this group which could only be described as true brotherhood, and remain strong to this very day. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen Nunez; daughters Corinne (Randy) O'Hara, Cindy (Bob) Stoddard, Rosalie (Keith) Crane, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers and three sisters. A celebration of life reception will take place on Saturday, March 24, from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church, 450 W. Citrus Street, Colton. As a final tribute to dad, please wear his favorite color (royal blue), or Oakland Raiders attire. "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." -John 14:2

4 years now. I heard that time heals. I heard this as a child. I know it's words of comfort. But, untrue. My papa worked and loved hard. Respect was key for everything and if it was crossed, he did not hesitate to handle it. A wise man. My sister's and I nick named him Yoda. (And he loved Star Wars.) We also nicknamed him Mr Miagi --like karate kids mentor. And his 1st grandson is "Daniel son". They both resemble the screen actors too. Smiles are automatic when I share his memory. His story. His legacy. We all miss him beyond words that can describe. Thank you for your on going prayers and thoughts.

Dad,
It is nearly 1 year since your passing and it feels like a lifetime since I got to talk to you, laugh with you and just be around you. There is not a day that passes without numerous thoughts of you. I recognize the signs you send. I'm thankful for your visits through my dreams. You are deeply missed and your memories help me through tough moments. I will see you again, Love Rosalie

(John 14:9-20)
Jesus *said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, `Show us the Father'?
"Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.
"Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
"If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
"After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.
"In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you."
