Eugene L. Stankavage

Eugene L. Stankavage, 89, of Ringtown, passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born June 21, 1934, in Ringtown, he was a son of the late Anthony and Felicia (Petrowsky) Stankavage.

Gene was a graduate of the former Union Township High School.

He was a veteran, having served our country in the Navy.

Gene then worked for PP&L as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He then joined his son at the sawmill and enjoyed splitting firewood. In his downtime, he also enjoyed mowing grass, playing the lottery and going to the casino, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Leo Stankavage, and his sister, Florence Stankavage.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Tina (Wesner) Stankavage; his son, Eugene C. Stankavage with his wife, Marie, of Pattersonville; his daughter, Sherry Porpiglia with her husband, Glenn, of Clark Summit; five grandchildren, Jolean, Justin, Shana, Kyle and Jessy; one great-grandchild, Hadley; nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 82 N. Center St., Ringtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. and will be officiated by Fr. Dominic Pham. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
