Gary J. Bilansky, 58, of Schwenksville, formerly of Minersville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at Einstein Medical Center, Norriton.
Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Stephen Bilansky and Agnes (O'Brein) Bilansky.
Gary graduated from Minersville High School in 1981.
He had worked for East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons, for 26 years.
Gary was a referee for girls' volleyball games and umpired softball and baseball games. He coached many different sports. He loved going to the beach. When it came to sports, he was a die hard Yankees, Colts and Duke fan.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Johannah A. Bilansky, of Blandon; his longtime companion, Laura G. Jahn. Other survivors are his siblings, Stephen and wife, Kathy Bilansky, of Reading, Mary Agnes (Bilansky) and husband, Robert Doyle, of Minersville, and Brian and wife, Lisa Bilansky, of Pottsville. Gary also had many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday followed by a celebration of Gary's life at 7 p.m. at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 117 W. Main St., Fleetwood. I worked many games with Gary as a softball umpire. He was always a pleasure to work with. We shared much laughter together. A good person.

I´m so very sorry for your loss, I knew Gary from Deka. We worked together in Kutztown and had just talk to him about losing my fiancé Rick in Sept 2021, which we had all carpooled when we were in Kutztown. I will keep you in my prayers. Sending hugs
